Program Manager

The Role: The Program Manager will be responsible for managing the IT infrastructure project management organization. The position reports to the Director, Global IT Infrastructure and works closely with Infrastructure, Security and Operations managers to deliver on IT programs and projects.
The successful candidate will lead a team of IT infrastructure project managers based in Chicago and London and collaborate with the adjacent IT teams, product, and global support teams to deliver projects as part of the IT organization’s objectives of sustainable cost efficiency, enhancement, and optimization of the IT portfolio as part of the company’s overall technology strategy.
Responsibilities
·Oversee the IT Infrastructure project management organization, responsible for people management and driving a positive team culture that continually encourages ownership.
·Ensuring that programs and projects are prioritized, are aligned to and deliver against IT strategy.
·Define and implement planning processes that ensures prioritization and effectively communicates and identifies risk and capacity constraints.
·Increase project management quality and efficiency by implementing effective project management tools and processes.
·Ensuring project workflow is managed and the project management team is effectively utilized and resourced
·Collaborate with a variety of teams across the organization including Development, QA, Operations, and Product to ensure that IT infrastructure requirements are delivered as part of the product development lifecycle.
·Act as a key part of the internal customer face of Morningstar’s IT teams.
·Manages large/key projects and programs
·Mentor, find and retain best in class team members to help grow our capacity, increase our capability and deliver our solutions.
Requirements
·8+ years in managing technology teams – preferably for SAAS applications and complex infrastructure
·Excellent leadership, communication and organization skills, process oriented mindset
·Good team and people leader, experienced in building a fun environment for people to work in and helping team members grow in their careers.
·Strong analytical and problem solving skills
·Ability to influence, needs to demonstrate the ability to build consensus and support for proposals
·Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
·Knowledge of Infrastructure and productivity Tools for mid-large size enterprises
·Successful and demonstrable track record of large datacenter build-out, co-location facilities, cloud, telecommunications and security projects.
·This role will be a key part of the internal customer face of Morningstar’s IT infrastructure teams, a customer-service focus orientated mindset is essential.
·Interest in the investment industry and strong knowledge of technology developments and trends is an advantage.
·PMP or PgMP certification required.
·A bachelor’s degree
