Job Description

GoHealth is looking for a Project Manager with a strong technical Agile project management background and a series of successes leading sprints to join our team.  We are a team of high performance, quality-driven engineers, who are excited to build the next generation of healthcare insurance SaaS products and related offerings.  

The Project Manager's primary role is to remove impediments from the team’s ability to deliver the sprint goal.  He or she will also serve as the link between the Product Team and the Development Team.  

We employ an Agile methodology and fully embrace the fundamentals of continuous delivery, self-organizing teams, just-in-time requirements, only as much documentation as is truly needed, and processes that make sense for the organization (not for the sake of process).


Responsibilities

  • Utilize standups and other techniques to identify impediments and find ways to remove them
  • Ensure that the Scrum process is used as intended, and is considered the enforcer of rules
  • Schedules and facilitates planning sessions, demonstrations & retrospectives; ensure the team gets value out of ceremonies
  • Build release and scrum/iteration plans and keeps team focused on current development cycle (sprint/iteration)
  • Report on the health/status of the development cycle/iteration/sprint
  • Use retrospectives, coach the team to adopt a continuous delivery mindset
  • Maintain constant communication with product team to define and prepare for future sprints
  • Coach the team to follow the processes and on identify ways to improve the processes


Qualifications

This candidate will be key in helping GoHealth manage our product backlog, track sprint burn down, and keep us organized.  We are looking for someone communicative and enthusiastic with a keen eye for detail.  Special emphasis put on the following:

  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience in Agile web development environment
  • Deep understanding of the reasons and the value of Scrum ceremonies
  • Strong analytical skills are required, along with a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Situational Awareness – must be the first to notice differences and issues as they arise and elevate them to management
  • Assertive – must be able to ensure Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, must be the voice of reason and authority
  • Understanding of basic fundamentals of iterative development, with a focus on minimum viable product
  • Ability to acquire respect from team, but willing to get your hands dirty when needed to get the job done
  • Experience as Scrum Master in a SaaS company are preferred
