THE ROLE

We are seeking a talented, energetic and results-driven individual to join our Sales and Marketing team as a Sales Development Representative (SDR). This highly visible position will provide lead and account development support to the North American sales organization to drive pipeline and revenue growth.

The SDR will be responsible for outbound prospecting and processing inbound sales inquiries to identify opportunities that meet the minimum qualification criteria for Sales. Through phone calls, emails and marketing automation programs, the SDR will educate contacts, build rapport and ultimately qualify them to be ready for sales opportunity engagement. The SDR will also support a variety of sales/marketing programs by managing call campaigns to drive registration and attendance for events, support launch of new products and targeting penetration into new markets.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for inbound qualification and outbound prospecting.
  • Performs outbound sales activities such as cold calling, emailing, lead follow-up, and opportunity qualifications in a specified territory. Average 80+ contact activities a day.
  • Meets or exceeds activity metrics for outbound calls, appointments set, opportunities added and prospecting time.
  • Research accounts to understand need, enable effective follow up, and generate interest.
  • Successfully nurture, manage and overcome prospect objections.
  • Provide opportunities to the sales team, work close with each rep as necessary to profile accounts and opportunities.
  • Builds relationships and effectively communicates with territory sales team and management.
  • Proactively looks for situations to optimize inbound/outbound lead management.
  • Leverage key tools including Outreach.io, Salesforce, Marketo, Google Office, Microsoft Office, Zoom and more.
  • Position Requirements:

    • 1-3+ years telephone experience with value based selling skills
    • Strong verbal selling skills over the phone and email
    • College Degree or equivalent
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Professional, determined, and results oriented
    • Positive attitude, team oriented, and a self-starter
    • Ability to accurately determine lead qualifications based upon established criteria
    • Ability to learn key software applications
    • Experience with enterprise software preferred
    • Experience prospecting or selling IT products or security products to IT or security buyers preferred
    • Experience with enterprise audiences in one or more key verticals of financial services, insurance, government, retail, manufacturing, high tech and entertainment preferred

    This position is located in either Chicago, IL or Washington D.C.
