Scholastica is the future of academic publishing. Scholastica provides editors at scholarly journals with a modern and affordable option for making research more accessible, and is already used by over 450 top journals. As Scholastica grows, we need a sales person who is eager to develop relationships and help us introduce Scholastica to journals across a variety of academic disciplines.
In this position, you will help refine and scale all aspects of a growing company's sales team in a "player-coach" role.
In the player role, you'll be responsible for getting to know journal editors, understanding their concerns, and communicating how Scholastica can help improve their workflow. We will pair you with a discipline that matches your educational background and interests, and you’ll have the opportunity to create your own sales tactics for effectively connecting with your leads. Our customer-facing departments (sales, marketing, and customer success) frequently work together, and the ideal candidate for this sales role is someone who is comfortable collaborating with and facilitating others.
In the coach role, you'll help strategize new sales initiatives, structure recruitment and hiring, and identify methods to grow the sales pipeline. You'll work closely with the CEO to set priorities, track metrics, recruit new sales talent, and coordinate with marketing lead on joint efforts. You'll help build a strong and successful sales team within Scholastica.
