JELLYVISION NEEDS A SALES OPERATIONS ANALYST

We here at Jellyvision are the proud parents of ALEX®, an interactive employee communications platform that happens to share some DNA (and a sense of humor) with the smash-hit trivia video game YOU DON’T KNOW JACK®, created by Jellyvision's founder. ALEX makes navigating tricky decisions—like choosing and using employee benefits or improving your financial wellness—easier, faster, and more helpful, not to mention entertaining. The success of the ALEX platform has exceeded our wildest dreams, (except for the part right before we woke up where our mom was riding a giraffe), which is why we need talented folks like you to help us help ALEX take over the world…er…continue to grow and succeed.

THAT’S LOVELY, BUT WHAT’S THE JOB?

Jellyvision is looking for a Sales Operations Analyst to help unlock sales insights and create, optimize, and maintain sales processes and tools. You’ll be the company’s main support for Salesforce.com, and you will reap our constant gratitude accordingly. As the BFF of Salesforce.com, you’ll be responsible for the overall development, configuration, and continuous improvement of our instance. This role will report to the Director of Sales Operations. You, along with the Director of Sale Operations, will be responsible for providing reporting and data to Sales and Senior Leadership.

NO REALLY, WHAT WOULD I, LIKE, DO IN THIS ROLE?

Well, a little context might help first.  Jellyvision’s sales team has gone through some pretty serious growth in the last few years and in 2016 in particular, going from about 16 sales team members to over 50.  And we’re playing a bit of catch up with our systems and infrastructure (read:  GROWING PAINS).  There’s admittedly some clean up to do, but then also you get to help shape sales operations as a real function at Jellyvision, helping us be smarter, more data driven, and ultimately more successful in sales.  There’s lot of room to run here.  We’ve got a really robust tech stack for sales and a team of nice people who now fully appreciate what clean data can do to make our lives easier. And did we mention that further cleaning up our data will make you universally adored?

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and implementing best practices with regard to Salesforce maintenance, configuration, development, testing, and data integrity
  • Striving to make our Salesforce environment the cleanest and most streamlined instance in the entire world.  This has two parts: Triaging the madness of the wonky stuff we implemented when we didn’t know what we were doing, and setting up best practices moving forward.
  • Helping build and maintain key sales reporting while working to automate as much as you can
  • Continuing to evaluate and make recommendations for established processes and programs
  • Maintaining Salesforce.com 3rd party applications including Outreach.io and Steelbrick
  • Evaluating and implementing current and prospective sales tools
  • Training and updating Sales Reps in Salesforce best practices and process changes

SO WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN A SALES OPERATIONS ANALYST?

  • Knowledge of Salesforce best practices – We’re looking for somebody who has been there, done that when it comes to Salesforce administration. You’ve seen enough to know what works – and what doesn’t – across a wide range of situations. And if you don’t know how to solve a problem offhand, you know where to look for the answer.
  • A passion for process improvement – Your knowledge of best practices should be combined with a zeal for tackling errors and inefficiencies with a one-two punch of process and automation. We’re looking for somebody who lives and breathes system optimization and is happiest when people and processes are humming along smoothly and error-free.
  • A collaborator and listener – Working across numerous teams at Jellyvision, you’ll need to be able to work well cross-functionally. You will need to listen to needs of many stakeholders while evaluating what’s most important to get us through the day.
  • Excellent problem solving skills – Jellyvision is growing across the board: we’re adding new customers, creating new products, evolving our pricing, exploring new business channels, and hiring new people. This creates a lot of fluidity so adaptability, flexibility, and resilience are musts!  We’re open to trying new things, so please be ready to bring ideas.  Our Salesforce instance must constantly evolve to support our business and end users. To that end, you must be an assertive, resourceful, and creative problem solver who’s able to develop solutions that work.
  • Project and time management skills in spades – You’ll need to be capable of balancing real-time requests from end users with longer-term initiatives and priorities. (Thankfully, we’ve got some internal project management tools to help!) However, it will be up to you to know what’s most important and to stay in open communication with stakeholders.
  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail – We’re looking for somebody with top notch organizational skills. You’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation for our business requirements, workflows, configuration settings, and more.

AND WHAT KINDS OF EXPERIENCE SHOULD YOU HAVE?

  • 2+ years of experience administering and managing Salesforce, ideally at an organization with more than a handful of Salesforce users (SFDC Administrator Certification would be a nice bonus -  Level 211 Certification would be even nicer).
  • Proven ability to successfully scale an organization’s Salesforce instance while supporting the needs of end users across the organization.
  • Experience with installing and maintaining multiple installed packages (prior experience with Marketo and Steelbrick a plus)
  • Advanced/expert knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management and teams
  • Track record of creative problem solving, data manipulation and strategic thinking

ANYTHING ELSE?  Yes. We share a commitment to excellence and a desire to work in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere, so we only hire nice, bright, funny people who are willing to work hard.  Our credo is a simple one: be helpful. And we think we can be most helpful if our workforce is as diverse in thought, perspective, and culture as the people who use our products. We are looking to add amazing folks to our team who will bring diversity across many lines, including race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, gender identity, sex, and country of origin.

ARE THERE ANY PERKS? Yes, we love perks.

  • Competitive pay, 401(k) with matching, stock options and benefits. We pay 100% of the cost of premiums for medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance for our employees (as long as you qualify for our tobacco-free discount; if you’re a tobacco user, your medical premiums will be higher than $0). We also cover a really nice chunk of the cost of premiums for spouse/dependent medical, dental and vision insurance.
  • Casual dress and a flexible schedule. Come in a sweatshirt, jeans, whatever, like everyone else here.
  • Creative work environment. We are lucky to work in a place that is full of intelligent, talented and innovative folks. Although most hours the place is deathly quiet (we're a focused bunch), this is punctuated with hilarious outbursts and general merriment, which makes a nice way to spend the day.
  • Free food. Every week, we stock our kitchen with free healthy snack foods, and we have a catered lunch every other week to give people a reason to hang out and eat together.
  • Easy transportation and lots of love for folks who bike to work. We’re really close to the North/Clybourn red line stop and the Halsted (#8) bus (right by the Apple Store and Mega Whole Foods too), and we have a transit FSA that allows you to dedicate pre-tax dollars to public transportation expenses. A number of our employees like to bike to work, so we also have bike storage, showers and lockers in the office.  And for those without their own bike in the city, we offer free divvy memberships – complete with Jellyvision bike helmets you can borrow from the office.
  • Did we mention our yoga class? We bring a pro instructor right to the office. Fully subsidized by Jellyvision and fully optional, btw.
  • Oh! And we have a massage chair. Not just any massage chair, my friend. It’s the HumanTouch HT 5320 WholeBody™ Massage Chair. Feeling a little stiff? Sit down. Relax. Feel better? Good. Okay, back to work.

AND HOW DO I APPLY?

We look forward to hearing about you and what you do. Make sure your application includes:

  • cover letter that highlights three reasons you think you’d be great for the gig, focusing on how your past experience has prepared you for this kind of position. Writing is key to all we do, and we weigh cover letters heavily.  We love a cover letter that really shows us your personality (check out our company bios to see the wide range of personalities we’ve already got in house), but don’t stress if you’re not a comedian. You don’t have to be funny. Just be yourself. We’re mostly interested in learning who you are, what you love to do, and why you’d love to do it here with us.
  • Your resume

You will receive an auto-reply confirming that we've received your application.

Please know that every single application we receive is read by a real live human being. However that kind of thoughtful review takes time, so it may take us a little while to get back to you (but we will, we promise). In the meantime, NO FOLLOW UP PHONE CALLS OR EMAILS, PLEASE. It’s not that we don’t love hearing from you. It’s just that time spent responding to follow ups could be spent…well…reading your application. Please rest assured that if you received a confirmation from Recruiting Robot, we’ve got you’re application, and will get back to you really soon. We knew you’d understand.

If you still have pressing questions in the meantime, please feel free to check out our handy-dandy FAQ page!

Thanks for your interest in Jellyvision!

An Insider's view of Jellyvision

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

When the company culture from top-down is set to take accountability and pride in your work, when leadership trusts and empowers employees to do the right thing and gives them flexibility as Jellyvision does, it motivates employees to give their very best to the organization. Work-Life Balance is not just a buzzword at Jellyvision.

Rajal

Senior Product Management, Benefits Engagement

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

If I’m coordinating, I absolutely love ending a meeting by summarizing action items any teams are accountable for before everyone leaves. Especially with so much information to keep track of, it helps me to pinpoint the important bits. Making sure there is clarity all around is the best and most efficient way that I can collaborate with teams.

Ashleigh

Talent Sourcer

What makes someone successful on your team?

Our team scales across Jellyvision, with a mix of curiosity, humility, and helpfulness. We willingly lean in to support the products that help people protect their health and well-being. And while a wicked sense of humor is in no way a requirement, we’ve lucked out with truly interesting, funny folks.

Chrissy

SVP Product Marketing

What unique initiatives do you have that encourage innovation?

Implementation is a team of ballers, constantly impressing me with new ideas. Our most recent ideas are new classes around Professional Development and a pilot approach to quickly implement customers. These ideas came from folks on the team. When my coworkers have these ideas, my job is to give them the support and resources to run with them.

Alex

SVP of Customer Operations
