Senior Account Executive, Enterprise Sales

That’s why we developed our platform, Quill™, which automatically creates machine-generated narratives from data.
We are currently looking for a Senior Account Executive, Enterprise Sales in our Chicago office. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the company’s business development efforts across their assigned territory. As a “hunter,” you will develop targets by prospecting into new customers and working diligently to build strong relationships with all members of the customer’s buying chain. The right candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding sales quotas for software based solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute territory plan to exceed annual sales quota
- Cultivate new opportunities to aggressively expand territory pipeline, with a focus on financial services, insurance companies, and asset management firms
- Navigate large enterprises to reach decision makers and sell Narrative Science products and solutions
- Balance closing opportunities with regularity while continuing to grow 12-18 month pipeline
- Provide solution scoping and product requirements to product and engineering functions
- Utilize Salesforce.com to effectively manage the sales process and maintain relevant sales activity
- Represent the company at industry events and with key prospects in the territory
- Ability to travel as needed (typically 5-7 days per month)
Qualifications
- 8 to 10 years years of BI and/or enterprise software sales experience selling into large institutions
- Consistent history of exceeding sales quotas (+$1MM in annual bookings) and experience with consultative selling
- Strong sales acumen with the ability to develop relationships across a variety of functional roles
- Desire to be part of a team that is building and selling a groundbreaking technology
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Prior experience working for a fast growing startup environment is a plus
