The ideal candidate will be able to:

 

  • Thoroughly understand the client’s needs and creatively apply our advertising solutions to solve those needs.
  • Be the steward and main point of contact for each client while utilizing advertising strategies and knowledge to build and maintain relationships/partnerships.
  • Manage and expand a book of advertising business for automotive marketing vertical service providers (i.e. finance, insurance and others)
  • Meet or exceed sales goals each year utilizing a product suite that includes national and regional display advertising, programmatic, data and strategic marketing partnerships.
  • Carefully maintain/update a forecast of annual business, demonstrating complete knowledge of client marketing and advertising strategy and planning.
  • Work closely with the internal account team to ensure campaigns deliver and advertiser goals are met.
  • Demonstrate category leadership and knowledge through updated strategy sharing internally for your clients’ goals. 
  • Travel 25-40% of the time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

 

Required Skills: 

  • Assertive relationship building skills
  • Effective in operating at both the client and agency levels  a strong understanding of both
  • Strong business skills including negotiation, strategy and analytics  
  • Understanding of the principles of media planning, and the tools used to develop an online media plan, including MediaMetrix and @Plan
  • Integrity, dependability, reliability, a winning attitude and a team player
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office as well as knowledge of analytics tools such as DSP, DMP, exchange environments

 

Required Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • A proven track record of sales success from building business to managing larger partnerships ($100K-$5mm)
  • 3-7 years of outside advertising sales or ad agency experience: background in selling national advertising or data program is strongly preferred
  • Experience selling programs/campaigns for a digital publisher or programmatic environment
  • Needs based selling experience for data/retargeting, programmatic, and contextual-based digital ad products
  • Experience with various cost structures (CPM, CPC, CPA) and high reach advertising tools cost basis
  • Experience prospecting for new business lines
  • Experience with cold calling, making sales presentations and the proven ability to close a sale
