Technical Operations Engineer
1st Shift: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Our Technical Operations Team:
Is uniquely positioned as a gatekeeper of Enova’s business critical systems; creating and maintaining stability and Reliability in a multitude of ways. Our Engineers monitor system processes related to back-end and front-end services to ensure they are functioning correctly. You’ll therefore work closely with all facets of the business and technical teams, performing root-cause analysis, implementing fixes for workaround requests, automating manual workarounds and continuously taking on ad hoc projects to improve system performance.

As a Technical Operations Engineer, you will:
- Maintain a resilient, secure system for the application to meet established SLAs
- Identify and automate manual workarounds and procedures and incident root causes.
- Monitor availability, latency, scalability and efficiency of all services by Engineering Reliabilityinto systems.
- Manage major incidents from service restoration to root cause resolution
- Update knowledge base articles with the latest issue resolution information
- Participate in system performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning and demand forecasting with the Infrastructure Operations team.
- Perform periodic on-call duty as part of the global team
You’re right for this job if you:
- are a Jr. level systems administrator who is passionate about IT Operations
- possess a good functional understanding of Linux, SQL and Networking concepts
- can perform performance tuning and troubleshoot ambiguous OpenSource software and infrastructure issues.
- possess intermediary scripting skills in Shell, Perl or Python.
- Excellent analytical skills, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive.
- have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- have a good understanding of e-commerce system architecture and troubleshooting.
- know how to get around in complex environments.
- have excellent written communication skills
Kudos to you if you:
- have experience in Configuration Management solution like Chef or Puppet.
- have previous e-commerce experience
- are familiar with installing and configuring OpenSource software (Debian, Postgres, rabbit, etc) and compiling stuff from source.
- have an understanding of virtualization platforms like OpenStack/ Amazon AWS, VMWare and Xen
- have worked with one of the following monitoring and log engines (Zenoss, Nagios, New Relic and Splunk)
- are familiar with Open Source technologies such as PostgreSQL and Ruby, Rails, etc.
- have experience with Graphing/Stats engines like Graphite, Mathematica or Cacti
