Neighborhoods.com is seeking to add a User Experience Designer/Researcher to help take our online national real estate sites (Neighborhoods.com and 55Places.com) to the next level. We specialize in niche markets within the real estate community, developing highly customized experiences for our users that will help them to make one of the biggest decisions of their lives.

Our ideal candidate will define problems & goals, design elegant user flows & wireframes, write A/B tests, conduct user-centered design research and usability testing to solve UX and UI challenges in a goal-oriented, data informed design environment

Essential Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of UX design experience, within a start-up or an agency setting preferred.
  • Experience using various web analytics and optimization tools.
  • Hands on experience conducting research (usability testing, survey writing, Google Analytics, writing A/B tests).
  • Communication and presentation skills – You need to be able to collect requirements, present solutions, explain the 'why' behind decisions, and make a case for the user.
  • Knowledge and understanding of UX best practices; must be able to speak to UX principles.
  • Proficient with UX and UI tools such as Axure, Adobe XD, InVision, Omnigraffle, etc.
  • Responsive Web Design experience and an understanding of prevailing best practices.
  • You design enjoyable experiences that users intuitively understand.
  • Most importantly, a passion for your work and a great sense of humor.


What You'll be Doing:

  • You will be dedicated to UX work and collaborating with our great team of UI designers
  • Conduct usability research both online and in the field and provide recommendations for product improvements
  • Work with team members to test business requirements using heuristic/qualitative methods
  • Help to plan, write and interpret data from Google Analytics
  • Work with UI designers to test proposed look & feel initiatives
  • Ability to combine quantitative metrics and qualitative feedback into actionable improvements
  • Coordinate, conduct and moderate usability tests and prepare written analysis
  • Work cross-functionally with all departments
  • Evangelize for the user
  • Be a self-starter – search for problems on your own, and propose solutions that contribute to our team's processes and improve users' lives
