Visual Designer
Sprout Social is looking for a Visual Designer to join our growing Brand Design team. All of the brand designers are passionate about creating delightful experiences for our customers, prospects and internal team.
We’re a tight knit group of visual and motion designers who proudly do 100% of our design work in-house, right here in our Chicago headquarters. Our brand is trusted and used by more than 19,000 companies around the world. Companies like Dropbox, Zendesk, Fender, Zipcar and Evernote rely on Sprout to create stronger relationships with their customers through social media.
Responsibilities
We’re looking for a passionate, creative and driven visual designer to work closely with our marketing, product marketing, sales and talent teams to design delightful experiences for our external and internal audiences. We’re looking for designer willing to step up to the challenge of delivering exceptional work, everything from print to digital experiences.
As a Visual Designer on the Brand Team you’ll get the opportunity to collaborate with many teams across Sprout on a range of projects and activities, here are just a few:
- Attend daily stand-ups with stakeholders in an agile, sprint-based work environment.
- Meet with stakeholders to discuss project needs/goals and ideate on possible solutions.
- Sketch and work through design concepts and options with creative check-ins and collaboration throughout.
- Use data and design best practices to create low-fidelity and fully-realized designs for both web and print experiences.
- End to end responsibility of completing projects with collaborative oversight.
- Work with the larger design team—comprised of motion, product and development designers—to establish and evolve brand standards and guidelines.
Desired Skills & Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in visual design.
- Strong background in graphic design and typography.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and more than comfortable with Adobe Illustrator.
- Knowledge of modern web design practices and trends.
- Passion for minimalist design and a style that is compatible with our vision for Sprout’s brand.
- Fanatical about telling and bringing compelling stories to life.
- Appreciation and eye for modern illustration trends.
- Proven ability to maintain brand integrity while advancing creativity within the context of project execution.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Humble enough to learn, hungry enough to grow and trusting enough to receive feedback.
- Ability to articulate and advocate for design decisions and execution.
- Excellent project management skills. You must be comfortable multi-tasking and working with a project manager to meet deadlines.
- Resourcefulness is highly valued at Sprout. You must be able to think on your feet and be okay with stepping out of your comfort zone in order to get the job done.
