G2 Crowd is looking for a talented Vice President of Business Development who shares our vision for disrupting the world of enterprise software by building the “yelp for the enterprise”.  The VP Business Development will drive awareness and revenue for our G2 Crowd platform by building relationships with leading enterprise vendors and strategic partners.  The VP Business Development will be part of our leadership team and be a prime evangelist for our new model, reporting into the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer .  


The ideal candidate will have significant experience in software and marketing technology and will be able to easily engage marketing and sales leaders (CMOs, CEOs, CROs) on a peer level.  The candidate will be hands on and start by directly engaging and owning a handful of strategic accounts and all partner relationships.  Longer term this will grow into a manager and leadership role.


The position is based in the Chicago or San Francisco Bay Area.  


Position Responsibilities:

  • Relationship building -- Seek out, develop and maintain relationships with senior executives and thought leaders in the enterprise technology world

  • Opportunistic selling -- Sell existing G2 Crowd marketing solutions into named enterprise accounts

  • Strategic selling --  Manage complex sales cycles at large enterprise accounts effectively by mapping the organization and building momentum and sponsors across the organization

  • Industry evangelist -- Represent G2 Crowd as a spokesperson and evangelist at industry events

  • Strategic partnering -- Work with the G2 Crowd leadership to seek out and drive new initiatives and strategic partnerships in areas such as content acquisition and distribution

  • Sales process -- Build and manage process for selling broader solutions to enterprise accounts

  • Team building (longer term) -- once the model is proven then begin to build out a team to scale


Position Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience selling enterprise and marketing technologies  

  • Proven track record of delivering results exceeding sales quotas

  • Network of contacts in the enterprise technology and marketing world

  • Results orientated: agility to adapt under evolving circumstances and achieve stretch goals

  • Entrepreneurial: Independent, self-motivated, smart, preference to work in an entrepreneurial environment
