Job Description
Responsible for leading the sales, business development, and client management efforts for merchants within one or more assigned industry verticals (portfolio). Develops and executes key objectives associated with the industry, including an emphasis on driving/protecting incremental revenue, improving market share, enhancing the customer experience while maximizing profitability against key initiative and goal priorities.
What You'll Do
- Lead the sales, business development, and client management efforts for digital wallet providers within one or more assigned industry verticals (portfolio).
- Develop and execute key objectives associated with the industry, which includes emphasizing driving/protecting incremental revenue, improving market share, and enhancing the customer experience while maximizing profitability against key initiative and goal priorities.
- Establish an aligned scorecard of metrics to understand provisioning, transactions, and defect trends to support delivery improvements across the organization. Includes, supporting the closure of merchant acceptance issues, analyzing declines to proactively identify possible issues in transactions and provisions.
- Participate in the Product Strategy and Roadmap representing our most strategic clients and shepherd project implementations alongside product.
- Prepare and develop technical presentations to explain company's products or services
- Research, develop, and collaborate with product team to modify capabilities to meet customers' technical requirements and needs.
- Identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management
- Support the negotiation of technical contract terms
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
How You'll Do It
- Develop and execute client management strategies and represent DFS as the strategic liaison and central point of contact.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across all divisions of the assigned strategic account portfolio.
- Serve as the industry expert and take responsibility for one or more industry verticals.
- Mentor other teammates and own and coordinate team activities against key initiatives and goal priorities.
- Present and execute marketing and promotional initiatives to increase sales and grow market share.
- Manage and implement operational initiatives and ensure full compliance with Discover process(es).
- Participate in industry events, organizations, and association-related events/conferences.
Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics
- Bachelor's degree in business, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in account relationship management, negotiation, payments, or related field
- In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in account relationship management, negotiation, payments, or related field
Bonus Points If You Have
- Master's degree in business, or related field
- Experience working with digital wallets such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or Google Pay.
