Senior Digital Content Strategist
The Opportunity
The Demand Generation and Digital team is looking for a Senior Digital Content Strategist to develop and implement a content strategy to support B2B digital experience and campaigns. The role requires working cross-functionally with web, demand gen, portfolio, and product marketing. While this role is primarily focused on commercial outcomes, there's an opportunity to help Morningstar shape it's digital disciplines.
The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering innovative, compelling content - from eBooks to videos to web experiences and more. This person will be creative, analytical and is comfortable working both collaboratively and autonomously. We are looking for someone who is passionate about building relationships, focused on making business impact, loves to "nerd out" on SEO, and is naturally curious about how to move the needle for organic user acquisition globally.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and implement the content required to grow organic traffic through SEO strategies and integrated campaigns.
- Partner with campaign managers and portfolio marketing to develop a comprehensive thought leadership content strategy that grows our organic traffic.
- Worked closely with Director of Web & Digital to achieve audience growth and net new contact acquisition targets.
- Act as chief editor of our blog that services the B2B audience segment. Create a content calendar that is aligned to our SEO strategy and enlist contributors across the organization.
- Develop creative briefs that synthesize large amounts of information - from industry trends to subject matter expert input to primary research - into audience-centric insights and stories that give our creative team the guidance they need to build compelling content.
- Evangelize program strategy and collaborate with internal partners to scope content experiences across the web. Enable the broader marketing ecosystem to understand our strategy, what content is available, and how to use it.
- Identify the best content targets to optimize based on the team's monthly, quarterly, and annual goals, as well as the keyword difficulty, competitive landscape, and any other relevant factors.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in a content strategy or similar role
- 3+ years SEO management experience, and deep knowledge of SEO best practices and concepts
- Extremely data-driven, and a strong understanding of SEO analytics and research platforms as well as familiarity with various third-party SEO solutions (e.g. Ahrefs, SEMRush, BrightEdge, Google Search Console, etc.)
- Understanding of B2B demand generation, content production and sales funnels
- Experience with multi-channel content creation
- Self-starter with a proven track record of working in a dynamic, global marketing environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work collaboratively in a team and handle multiple simultaneous projects
- An appetite for organization, efficiency, and a keen eye for detail
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
