What You'll Bring
Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail
Experience with technical communications tools, such as Microsoft Word and Madcap Flare (or another online help or single-sourcing tool)
Four-year degree or equivalent experience (preferred degree in technical communications, technical writing, English, or a related field)
At least 2-5 years of experience in technical communications, technical writing, or a related field
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
We’re also looking for the preferred skills below. Whether you are proficient or could use some brushing up, we’re happy to support your development in:
Knowledge or expertise in additional core team tools, such as Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Captivate, Snagit, Confluence, and SharePoint
Knowledge of markup languages, such as XML, JSON, or HTML
Impact You'll Make
This role reports directly to the Senior Lead of the Technical Content Development team.
You’ll write or edit content (including conducting peer reviews), working closely with various departments to understand project requirements. You’ll also gather information from subject experts, ensure content complies with our corporate brand, and maintain various templates.
While primarily working independently, you may work with other writers as needed on large or complex projects.
In this role, you are responsible for assisting other teams and associates in creating and managing their technical content for internal and external use.
Write, edit, and format moderately complex technical content ensuring any documentation complies with corporate standards.
Research and communicate technical information for technical and non-technical users.
Help train others on using documentation standards and templates, suggest updates, and implement updates when requested.
Conduct basic audience analysis.
Advocate for end users by recommending product and process improvements.
Create rudimentary graphical content to be included in various deliverables.
Work with other technical writers to provide peer editing and define writing standards.
Write basic storyboards for eLearning courses, primarily with information supplied by others. May create the courses using templates.
Perform other related duties, as assigned.
