Department Overview911 Datamaster, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, has for the past 20+ years been in the business of providing software solutions for 911 call routing and the management of 911 data for call routing.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for editing and stewardship of all ‘Product Documentation’ (see section list below).
Maintain consistency in formatting, editing, and quality assurance of all Product Documentation.
Maintain and improve editorial and visual standards for documents and recommend new designs, layouts and procedures as needed.
Work directly with development engineers and product managers/specialists on product features to gather, analyze, and compose technical documents (for both technical and non-technical users).
Educate staff on company documentation practices and resource locations as needed.
Documentation Creation – Understand, at a high level, sufficient to effectively maintain documentation for each. This will include close cooperation with product leads and developers at the beginning of and throughout the development process.
Following training on the use of in-house product development tracking software, monitor this system in concert with new documentation update additions.
Following training on the use of the in-house RFP response development software RFPIO, coordinate the acquisition, loading and output of required RFP response materials.
Maintenance of existing documentation (keeping stuff up to date) in the central repository and making required documentation available to both staff and our Channel Partners as needed.
Provide documentation and graphics support as needed to all internal staff.

Training Agendas (on-line and on-site)
Additional documentation creation and updating as directed
Proficient in MS Office Suite, Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools as required.
Preferred locations are Austin, TX or Kansas City, KS.
2+ years of Technical Writing or Product Documentation experience
High school diploma or equivalent
