Job Description

Active Directory & Messaging Engineer

The desired candidate will be a vital part of the Global IT Infrastructure team with a proven track record of designing and deploying Directory and Messaging technologies. Motorola Solutions runs a unique environment of blended directory and messaging solutions with various integration points. Must be a self-motivated team player who is willing to assist others with projects and problems. There is an expectation that the candidate will proactively identify impactful solutions for the future or find improvements to the existing systems.

 

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • This position is responsible for defining, implementing and managing IT infrastructure for Windows, Directories, Messaging and PKI

  • The candidate will demonstrate a high level of creativity and expertise to devise simple, high impact solutions to improve our employee experience.

  • Identify innovative opportunities and drive implementation from concept through testing, business case development, pilot, full deployment and ongoing management

  • Integrate with cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure

  • Deploy and support new infrastructure

  • Learn and adopt new tools and techniques to increase performance, scalability and automation

  • Provide expertise and level 3 problem resolution for other teams within IT

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Fluent in testing, deploying and managing Windows Operating Systems

  • Fluent in deploying and managing Active Directory

  • Experience with designing and running core email and messaging technologies, including SMTP

  • Experience with PKI and Certificate solutions

  • Experience with directories integration

  • Experience creating documentation for system administrators and users
     

    Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience with experience matching two or more of the following:

  • Operating Systems, especially Windows

  • Directory systems including Active Directory and LDAP

  • Email infrastructure

  • PKI and Certificates

  • Any experience with the following is a plus:

    • Web based integration including Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), SAML, web Single Sign-on (SSO), OAuth and related authentication technologies

    • Experience with G-Suite integration / Google cloud services

    • Ability to create infrastructure support tools using e.g. batch, vbscript, C#, python

    • Networking and TCP/IP with protocol level awareness

    • Knowledge of packet capture and analysis

    • Project experience implementing core infrastructure
