Job Description
Overview:
We are looking for a Business Technical Analyst with hands on experience that can partner with our business teams to create and implement technically sound business solutions for the Drive Thru with focus on the outdoor digital menu boards and surrounding technologies. These solutions will enable and support our effort to enhance every facet of the crew and customer experience in the Drive Thru.
This position will be based in our headquarters in Chicago, IL but may occasionally work from our Innovation Center in Romeoville, IL. May travel up to 10%.
Responsibilities:
- Lead requirements gathering and discovery workshops.
- Lead and participate in project meetings to ensure understanding of requirements, timing, and resource requirements.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of the key business processes and systems and identify integration, alignment and improvement opportunities.
- Support developers by providing functional clarification and setting expectations with team and client.
- Plan and execute test plans and test cases; ensure overall quality of solution.
- Effectively analyze and prioritize high impact initiatives. Engage with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to understand the primary use cases.
- Author and create design artifacts such as: functional design specifications, source to data mapping and process and data flow diagrams.
- Work with onsite and remote development teams, coordinating with both McDonald’s and third party vendor development teams.
- Create and maintain documentation pertaining to product features and work processes while adhering to established standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting in-store solution POC installations with regard to system integration and data integrity, potentially also assisting where hardware components .
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst or equivalent role.
- 1+ years working in an Agile Product Management environment, preferably on customer-facing products within agile development teams. Demonstrable experience with Agile methodologies.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills; analytics mindset and skills in research and analysis.
- Superb communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with digital content management systems and A/B testing of customer-facing digital solutions.
- Experience with data management, data warehouse and ETL concepts.
- General understanding of XML, JSON, APIs.
- Experience with microservice architecture, system interfaces, and customer-facing software design and development.
- Ability to understand, configure, and dissect complex technology solutions.
- A deep understanding of the software development process; enterprise or software development experience a plus.
- Strong ability to speak to, as well as collaborate with, engineers, product managers, project managers, corporate leadership, and partners.
- Experience gathering, documenting requirements and leading working sessions.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum management tools, specific experience with JIRA and Confluence a plus.
Desired Skills:
- Working experience writing SQL queries.
- Experience with Tableau is a plus.
- AWS, Cloud Applications.
- Hands-on experience with requirements definition for retail and ecommerce technology solutions; POS and other in-store technology experience a plus.
