The Technology team utilizes the latest technological trends to effectively build and manage solutions in an informal, open and collaborative environment.
Position Overview:
Within Camelot Illinois, the Configuration Specialist is responsible for providing the control of the hardware and software IT assets for Camelot Illinois, providing configuration management (CM) functions to the business systems software development and test teams, and supporting the use of configuration management tools across the department.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the processes for the control of all IT hardware and software configuration.
- Manage CM related issues and problems.
- Identify opportunities and possible solutions for improvements in the existing CM processes and tool(s) usage.
- Maintain all CM deliverables (tools, documentation, reports etc).
- Perform baseline merge activities for all IT applications.
- Work with other IT & project teams to resolve issues relating to the quality of delivery of the CM processes.
- Act as liaison between internal and external Software Development and Release Management providers, to manage all software releases.
- Provide fully accountable third line (last line) support to the live systems, both within and outside normal working hours.
- Support development and test teams.
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology related discipline or equivalent experience.
- 3 plus years experience of configuration or release management, including knowledge of how to develop and maintain a configuration management database (CMDB).
- Experience of ITIL to at least foundation level or equivalent.
- Knowledge and practical experience of Service Management.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, including PRINCE2.
- Understanding of ISO20000 and ISO19770.
- Understanding of the hardware and software that is utilized within infrastructure.
- Experience of monitoring progress and resolution of problems and known errors.
- Experience of the software license management.
