Procurement Specialist
PEAK6 is seeking an IT Procurement Specialist responsible for the acquisition of Information Technology products and services, including: IT hardware, software, and services. The role has technology procurement and contract management responsibility across all PEAK6 businesses including Capital Management, Advisors, OptionsHouse and Apex. This individual will be the primary point of contact with employees on their purchase requests and will be required to provide an exceptional level of customer service.
Key Skills & Responsibilities:
- Identify potential suppliers and make recommendations based on reputation, price, terms, and strategic value
- Negotiate best price, quality, service levels and delivery terms for purchased products and services
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure we receive best possible terms and appropriate level of service
- Advise, educate and communicate with employees on purchase requests
- Establish process and guidelines for purchase requests and continue to refine as necessary
- Collaborate with functional organizations (IT, finance, HR, facilities, etc.) to provide the highest quality products and services at the lowest cost
- Identify and communicate risks (such as limited supply / backorder status, acquisition delays, etc.) to requesting parties; be able to recommend and procure alternative products and/or services where appropriate, and escalate as necessary
- Formulate, track, and drive key performance metrics for cost, quality, and delivery
- Evaluate existing processes and make recommendations to improve level of service or efficiency
- Manage software and hardware renewal calendar and ensure maintenance on in use products is retained and maintenance on retired products and services is appropriately canceled
- Partner with Desktop Support and Infrastructure team members to manage technology inventory and ensure proper quantities of needed resources are available at all times
- Partner with Finance to produce MoM reports showing purchases by type and business including trend
- Partner with the Legal team to ensure contracts are reviewed in a timely manner and, as renewal terms approach, contracts are appropriately renewed or terminated
Job Requirements:
- B.S. or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be relationship oriented and have served in a customer service role previously
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
- Must be flexible, adapt easily and be motivated by constant change
- Proven success in an ever changing, entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate with limited supervision
