The Team
At Arity, our Data Science team is at the core of helping us transform mobility. Not only do we know how to analyze and find meaning within billions of miles of driving data collected from smartphones, onboard devices and third parties, but we are passionate about how it affects the end-users of our products. The Role
As a Business Intelligence Developer Lead at Arity, you will help lead the use of data to drive decisions at scale. You will collaborate with product owners, data & software engineers, and designers to develop and deploy robust, scalable data visualizations, dashboards and related BI tools that enhance our understanding of user mobility. You will create new ways of finding meaning from our unique combination of driving and mobility data along with insurance, shared mobility, and mobile app data that help us understand transportation and the risk of behaviors on the road. You will also help shape and grow our culture we have worked hard to establish – promoting recognition of good work, continuous learning, winning together, and having fun along the way.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product owners, data analysts, data engineers and designers to deliver industry leading data visualization products including visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards to better serve customers
- Influence product owners on the design of product features and product roadmap for visualization products
- Work with data analysts to enhance our data models and reporting dashboards across customer segments
- Navigate multiple data sources across Arity to evaluate re-use opportunities and establish connections to existing data sources, importing data or establishing data sets to meet business intelligence needs
- Build strong partnerships with infrastructure, data services and app teams to ensure consistency across solutions, remove blockers and drive strategic initiatives
- Serve as a Tableau expert in Arity, define data visualization standards and best practices using Tableau for the business intelligence track, and keep up with the new visualization techniques
- Expand our business intelligence capability beyond Tableau through development opportunities and researching innovative tools and techniques
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in hands-on development of complex visualization products using Tableau
- Experience embedding Tableau dashboards within web applications
- Ability to optimize dashboard performance to handle large volumes of data
- Familiarity with UX/UI design concepts, ensuring an intuitive, clean interface
- Solid understanding of data model design
- Proven knowledge of handling both structured / unstructured data in data lakes (with Spark), SQL and no-SQL databases
- Demonstrated success working on an Agile development team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with other technical team members and non-technical business partners
- Ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of an organization
Optional:
- Experience managing Tableau server-side configuration including user security, access control and performance optimization
- Familiar with the visualization products typical within the insurance industry

The salary range for this level position is $96,500 - $174,600. The salary offered is commensurate with experience.
