The role.

Root is looking for an audit analyst with a background in insurance to join Root’s regulatory compliance efforts to support our growing compliance needs. As the Compliance Audit Analyst, you’ll work with various areas of the business and execute compliance audits. You will partner with the legal team in ensuring internal processes and procedures are compliant, monitored, followed, adjusted, and corrected accordingly to mitigate risk and ensuring we are compliant with all regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented critical thinker who enjoys the challenge of solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment and eager to join a growing organization to build a compliance audit function.


Reports to: Compliance Audit Manager

What you'll do.

  • Complete thorough, accurate and objective reviews of company processes and procedures for compliance with governing laws and regulations
  • Research and interpret the applicability of regulatory rules and regulations
  • Identify trends, opportunities and areas of improvement
  • Work collaboratively with different areas of the business to offer compliance support, feedback and drive a culture of compliance
  • Provide feedback on audit findings and corrective action plans
  • Partner with Compliance team members to work with Regulatory, Claims, Product, Customer Service, Engineering, and Pricing teams to ensure internal processes and procedures are compliant, monitored, followed, and adjusted accordingly
  • Assist with company-wide compliance projects as needed

What we're looking for.

  • 3-5 years of combined insurance experience in compliance, auditing, claims, and/or customer service and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other areas of business with experience building engaged professional partnerships
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and pivot between responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Exceptional critical thinking abilities, strong business acumen, and excellent judgment 
  • Exemplary personal and professional integrity and business ethics
  • Great attention to detail, highly organized and adaptable to shifting business priorities
  • Commitment to diversity and respect for others
