Consumer Insights Manager: RXBAR is one of the fastest growing natural brands in the country and this explosive growth requires RXBAR to continue operating at the highest efficiency possible. We believe that this role will be a critical component to ensure our long-term success.

The Consumer Insights Manager will build the consumer insights competency across all of our brands and channels and act as a thought leader to the organization, developing both qualitative and quantitative narratives, as well as identifying innovation opportunities.

 General Functions + Job Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership
    • Embody and educate the Consumer Insights team on RX’s leadership principals
    • Build, manage, motivate, and develop the Consumer Insights team
      • Engage in 1:1s bi-weekly with each member of the Consumer Insights team
      • Perform market visits with the team
    • Work closely with Director of Insights to ensure team members understand the broader business strategy
    • Leverage a Design Thinking or Human Centered Design to solve ambiguous problems and uncover latent insights
    • Work with the Consumer Insights team to ensure the timely completion and ongoing tracking of OKRs (RX’s goal setting framework)
  • Consumer Insights
    • Design the vision for and be the organizational expert on Consumer Insights, and build greater consumer empathy into everything we do
    • Partner with Marketing to develop consumer-centric strategies to capture loyalty, drive engagement, identify KPI's, and define the future shape of consumer demand
    • Collaborate with R&D and Quality on how Consumer Insights impacts innovation related to product and packaging
    • Effectively narrate the consumer point of view in the form of written and visual summaries
    • Develop, manage and execute consumer insights research plans, some of which include 3rd party syndicated research and primary in-market field research
  • Innovation Insights
    • By way of Design Thinking, proactively identify and communicate to the organization key consumer trends to inform new opportunities
    • Lead, in partnership with the marketing team, a SWOT analysis on innovation opportunities to inform our pipeline
    • Utilize untraditional means to creatively collect consumer feedback and identify innovation opportunities (e.g., Customer Service, Zendesk, Field Marketing, etc.)
    • Support ad hoc project needs as they arise

 Skills & Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude, a thirst for knowledge, and an excitement for growing our business
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-7 years of experience using elements of Design Thinking in management, design, or marketing consulting, or in a consumer, shopper, and innovation insights function
  • Demonstrated fluency in applying a human-centered design process in business, including observing empathetically, leveraging outside inspiration, ideating, prototyping, and balancing constraints
  • Familiarity with Agile development
  • Intellectually curious
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Experience in a wide variety of custom qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Fluent in synthesizing large and disparate traditional and non-traditional data sets to identify the key implications and to then tell a story of your findings in a clear, concise, and visually compelling presentation
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite—advanced knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Must be skilled in leveraging media to story-tell for influence
