The role:

We are looking for a talented Data Science Lead to lead the development, implementation and optimization of the core machine learning models that drive our business at Braviant. The right person for this role has strong technical skills with a background in machine learning and analytics. This person is biased towards action and proactively seeking new solutions. 

What you'll be doing:

• You'll lead the development, implementation and optimization of core measurement frameworks and machine learning models for underwriting and verification or across marketing channels
• You'll use a diverse set of machine learning and statistical modeling techniques to action on new business opportunities and optimize existing strategies
• You'll proactively perform data exploration and analysis to identify new opportunities for profitable growth
• You'll develop subject matter expertise of underwriting practices or our customer acquisition channels
• You'll collaborate with Product leaders to influence strategy as well as define and monitor KPIs
• You'll partner with Technology teams to build out data science pipelines to support continuous testing, optimization and implementation of new models

What you'll bring:

• 5+ years of professional experience in an analytical role with an emphasis on model building
• Master’s degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or other quantitative field
• Expert in the tools used for data manipulation and statistical analysis e.g. Python/R/SQL
• Hands-on experience using various predictive machine learning techniques including: linear models, decision trees, boosting, and ensemble models
• Knowledge of optimization, stochastic processes, experimental design, A/B testing and bootstrapping
• Passion for keeping your skills up to date and exploring new methodologies
• The ability to distill complex problems and analysis into a clear and concise narrative 
• Experience teaching others how to make their own work better and more efficient

• Experience in any of the following: targeting/segmentation, direct mail, digital marketing, unsecured consumer lending, optimization, and lifetime value analysis
• Experience with Apache Spark
• You understand when spend the extra time to automate the boring stuff after you have found the elegant solution
