The Role

Our Database Architect will be instrumental to Braviant’s success by individually contributing to and leading a team that designs and implements Braviant’s enterprise data warehouse. A successful Data Warehouse Architect will be leading a team of database engineers from requirement analysis through production deployment enabling data driven decisions throughout the organization. The Data Warehouse Architect will be working collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the business, data engineers and our engineering team on designs and implementations to grow our business while reporting directly to the Director of Data Engineering and reporting.

What you'll be doing:

• Work with business stakeholders to understand key business workflows and translate them into data models to support business intelligence.
• Develop and revise conceptual, logical, and physical data models for our Enterprise Data Warehouse.
• Develop an overall data warehouse strategy and mentor data team members in data modeling and key ETL processes.
• Analyze and assess existing platforms for maintainability, reliability, scalability, and performance. Help define improvements for existing solutions.
• Participate in regular code review for all new code deployment efforts as code is advanced through the development life cycle.

What you'll bring:

• 5+ year’s experience as a DBA and/or database development experience.
• 4+ years working with relational databases.
• 2+ Years Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience.
• Python, Bash or related shell scripting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math or related field.

What makes you stand out:

• 4+ years or experience managing or supporting database services on AWS such as Aurora, RDS or Redshift.
• Strong knowledge of Postgres internals, including Postgres catalog tables with experience creating utilities based on catalog tables and using foreign data wrappers (FDW).
• Optimization experience, including an understanding of differences in optimization for OLTP/OLAP.
• DB performance tuning, backup/recovery, troubleshooting, and scalability/capacity planning.
• Experience architecting data solutions in AWS.
