Your Impact
As a member of our data team you will be the dedicated analyst resource for a set of product and operational teams where you will work collaboratively to help them understand and measure the impact of their work. As part of supporting these teams you will carry out a wide range of Data Team projects including:
- Helping product and operations teams track key results, identify areas of improvement, and assess the impact of new product releases
- Working with engineering on data governance, data collection, infrastructure plans, and data gaps
- Monitoring, optimizing, and growing our cloud-based data warehouse
- Predictive analytics and data research projects to help guide company initiatives or automate bottlenecks.
- Architect data integrations for 3rd party datasets and APIs
- Write in-house software for high-value projects.
On any given day you might work on deploying a custom ETL script deployment with DevOps team, brainstorm product metrics with a product manager, talk to an external partner about an API integration, and update a dashboard for our CS team.
Your Experience
We specifically look for “full stack” analysts, sometimes called “analytics engineers”, who are comfortable enough with basic scripting, SQL, and SaaS Data Warehouse tools to own not just the analysis but the actual architecture used to collect the data. We use best practices from engineering, experimental design, and product development whenever possible and are always looking to improve. The ability to communicate information to diverse audiences is also of critical importance.
Professional Skills:
- Proven experience as data analyst or similar role in a professional setting especially the ability to summarize and present quantitative data in a variety of formats.
- Ability to take ownership of complex projects from start to finish including working with other departments and helping shape success conditions
- Shaping data analyst processes and workflows, especially on interdepartmental work
- Ability to mentor and guide junior analysts
- Have a strong desire and demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new skills
- Ability to build analytic systems and predictive models
- Ability to take insights and turn them into actionable steps that can drive business value
Technical Skills:
- Expert in SQL, Excel, Data Visualization, Communication Skills
- Proficient with at least 1 scripting language (ideally Python + Pandas) and basic statistics
- Familiarity with the following tools (or their equivalent) is helpful: Fivetran, Segment, Snowflake, Looker, Amplitude, Git / GitLab, AWS: (S3 / Lambda / RDS)
