The Upwork Analytics team harnesses a wealth of data to empower our leaders across the company and drive thought leadership on critical projects. Your Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Leadership, BizOps, FP&A, and Product teams to ask difficult questions of our marketplace mechanics then use your full analytics toolkit to proactively answer those questions.
• Work directly under our Senior Director of Analytics on key strategic analytics projects for emerging efforts across the business. Work across multiple teams to build the foundation of a robust analytics workstream.
• Deliver thought leadership to key partners through A/B tests, dashboards, and strategic analyses in order to compel changes in corporate strategy and product decisions.
• Lead hybrid strategy and analytics projects from concept to execution: translate a business question into an analytical framework, generate insights through analysis, effectively communicate recommended actions, and set up tracking to hold us accountable for achieving our objectives.

How to catch our eye:

• Show a history of seeing the big strategic questions and going deep into data to analyze them. Demonstrate critical thinking, curiosity, and an ability to distill data into a story to present in a clear way.
• Combine strong SQL skills, background with strategy, BI fluency (Looker experience preferred), a working knowledge of A/B experiments, and a proven understanding of statistics.
• Showcase extensive experience leading analytics projects end-to-end and thriving in a multifaceted, fast-paced environment. Show us that you’ve made a difference with tangible outcomes in previous roles.
• Show passion for getting into the details - write code, dig into data, iterate quickly and take action.
• Past ownership of analytics initiatives with visibility at the senior leadership level.
