Title: Senior Business Analyst - Data Engineering

Role Description

The Senior Business Analyst will work with business unit subject matter experts and managers to define/document functional and technical requirements, align on project priorities with an emphasis on data engineering and data architecture, and ensure development and integration needs are aligned across all departments including software development.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage all requests coming from assigned teams including new projects, bugs and enhancements
  • Assist the Director, VP, and SVP on creating roadmap for assigned teams in order to plan for resourcing and long term timelines
  • Work with Program Manager on maintaining project lists and foreseeing upcoming work for prioritization within an Agile environment
  • Assist with the scoping, planning, and execution of data architecture initiatives including real time data streaming and FHIR initiatives that affect the organization's IT infrastructure
  • Plan, elicit, capture, analyze, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements for new and existing business processes, systems, and applications
  • Provide prompt and up to date updates to internal and external team leaders when asked for project statuses
  • Facilitate meetings with business owners and developers to identify, document, and communicate business needs and provide reporting solutions to ensure timely release of projects
  • Coordinate functional and user acceptance testing by executing the testing strategy, scheduling resources, and tracking test performance
  • Facilitate collaborative system and data design sessions with the user community and technical architecture resources/development resources
  • Coordinate activities including on-time delivery, testing, and production moves
  • Work as a technical support and liaison to designated IT personnel to provide testing, support, and feedback on enhancement requests and regular updates/releases; adhere to release schedules
  • Demonstrate a high level of subject matter expertise in functional area to bridge business requirements and IT solutions; provide technical direction and ensure compliance with optimum practice solutions
  • Practice knowledge transfer and foster change management as the organization changes and new skills are required, focusing on team/individual development; perform other assigned duties.
  • Serve as a mentor and good steward to other business analysts on the Business Intelligence team


What we're looking for

We're looking for motivated, experienced application developer with:

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business, Analytics, Informatics, or related field
  • More than five (5) years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working with SQL
  • Experience with Rapid FHIR Integration
  • Understanding of Change Data Capture processes and best practices
  • Ability to research and understand new complex technical initiatives and challenges
  • Experience leveraging project management tools such as Azure DevOps
  • Experience working within an Agile environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team
  • Release management and planning experience
  • Ability to take ownership of a project and see it from end to end
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables
  • Ability to communicate clearly to stakeholders and users
  • Knowledge and experience in technical aspects of software solution being tested
  • Business process understanding
