ABOUT THE ROLE:
The ShopRunner Analytics team drives insights into every aspect of our business supporting a wide variety of stakeholders across the organization. The Senior Data Analyst role will be a critical member of the ShopRunner Analytics team working directly with stakeholders, managing deliverables, and executing multiple concurrent projects in our fast paced work environment with minimal supervision.

We are looking for a curious individual with a go-getter mindset to join our lean and agile team. This individual is a proven self-starter that is comfortable with ambiguity and has a data engineering mindset. This Sr. Analyst reports to the Director of Consumer Analytics and will work closely with a diverse group of stakeholders so both excellent written/oral communication skills are needed. If you are comfortable digging into large datasets with a tenacious attention to detail, we’re looking for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Partner with marketing, product and engineering teams to understand their needs and provide the insights to make tactical business decisions. Extract, interpret and synthesize data from a variety of complex data sources into a simplified story consumable by members across the organization
  • Understand performance as it relates to all aspects of our unique ecommerce ecosystem including retailers, partners and consumers
  • Understand how ecommerce data is produced and the technical tools needed to conduct instrumentation, validation and analysis
  • Build out processes to measure data quality and work with Data Engineering to identify issues and drive hygiene improvements
  • Implement alert tracking to account for performance by identifying and alerting business owners of key breaks in performance trends as they occur
  • Compile data across a wide variety of sources and perform analyses similar but not limited to
    • Growing our member base and optimizing the member experience
    • Synthesize large complex datasets by creating automated analytical frameworks, reports, and visualizations
    • Understand consumer behavior, profiles and key segments to identify opportunities to fuel incremental engagement
    • Make recommendations, such as identifying marketing or product feature opportunities


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Required:
● 4+ years of experience as a marketing/product/data analyst in a consumer-facing company
● BS in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
● Solid foundation with analytics, deep understanding of the details of how data is created and solving data problems
● Expert at SQL and Excel for querying and manipulating large volume of data for analysis and visualization
● Willingness to gather and organize messy, "non-standard" or unstructured data
● Experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Qlikview, Looker, etc.
● Ability to work independently and drive your own projects
● Excited about the opportunities in a startup and unfazed by the ambiguity and fast-paced culture that come with it
● Proactive with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
Preferred:

  • Experience working across multiple business functions
  • Statistical modeling experience as it relates to CRM (segmentation, churn prediction, etc) and A-B testing
  • Understanding of ecommerce marketing channels and attribution modeling
  • Experience working across multiple business functions
