ABOUT US

Our millions of members receive exclusive benefits such as free 2-day shipping, free returns, 2-click checkout and special promotions across our network of 100+ retailers. Our retailers enjoy the power of cross-retailer network effects in the form of new customers and increased purchase frequency.

With people in offices in Chicago and Conshohocken, PA, we’re perpetrators of good vibes and great experiences for our customers, our merchants and each other.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Great experiences are built on a solid understanding of customer needs, behaviors and desires. ShopRunner is looking for an empathetic individual who is excited to build customer-centric products and culture.

You'll be part of a design team that:

    • Practices human-centered design. We want your guidance and perspective throughout the entire process.
    • Embraces a test and learn mindset. Whether we’re getting early on a concept or developing feedback loops for products in market, we take an iterative approach to research.
    • Values a “Just Enough Research” mentality: It’s easy to go down the research rabbit hole. Knowing when a product or feature should be tested in market and the trade-offs involved is key to being successful on this team.
    • Invests in your growth. We want to see you succeed and are here to help guide and challenge you.

ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Be a passionate advocate for the customer. We have two core customers types; shoppers and retailers. You’ll represent them and their needs in every discussion.
  • Be responsible for all phases of research. You’ll design studies, recruit, moderate, analyze, communicate insights and develop recommendations.
  • Execute generative and evaluative methods such as usability testing, concept testing, contextual inquiry and survey design. Having a solid understanding of how to write and ask the right questions is foundational for this role.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the design team to inform, critique and explore new opportunities.
  • Take others on the journey with you. Silos aren’t our thing; you’ll be a collaborative partner to product, design, marketing, engineering and others around the company.

ABOUT WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • You have an education in research or design. We’re looking for folks who have an education or background in design or research such as Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Psychology, Anthropology, Bootcamp, etc.
  • You’ve practiced a variety of methods and know when to use them. You understand their strengths and shortcomings.
  • You have experience researching for digital products.
  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity and change. We’re a small, scrappy team and things are always evolving.
  • You’re eager to build relationships around the company. Having empathy for your co-workers and understanding their needs is key to being successful when working collaboratively across functions.
  • Bonus points if you know how to design and prototype interfaces. Every once in a while we’re in a pinch and having a researcher with design chops is appreciated.

We want you to bring your whole human self to work every single day. We accept you for who you are and consider everyone on an equal opportunity basis without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
