Design Operations Manager
Bounteous is searching for a Design Operations Manager to support our fast-growing team by ensuring our designers, writers, and researchers have the tools and processes they need to focus on their respective crafts rather than taking on work outside of their core competency. We are looking for operation experts with a passion to help move obstacles and support high quality crafts, methods, processes, and deliverables.
Role and Responsibilities: Team Support
- Monitor multiple communication channels for Design Operation requests and proactively identify and prevent future issues
- Assist the Experience Design (XD) Team by troubleshooting design software issues
- Act as liaison between XD Team and IT Support
- Manage accounts, roles, and permissions of design software and SaaS platforms
- Create project launch playbooks and checklists to bootstrap successful client engagements
Role and Responsibilities: Governance and Craft
- Establish credibility and become the source of truth for design operations within the organization
- Provide educational opportunities for the team by facilitating internal and vendor subject matter experts to level up XD Team skills
- Define and execute scalable methods, rituals, and processes to maximize the design team’s impact on client activities and deliverables
- Implement change management methods to implement tool upgrades and workflow updates
- Maintain current documentation on the design, operations, processes, and policies
- Maintain an intuitive file, folder, and taxonomy management to enable team members to quickly find what they need and get back to work
- Perform regular assessments and selection of design tools and systems needed to execute great research, design, and content work
- Meet with XD leadership to define short and long term design operation goals
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of design operation experience with creative professionals, with a focus on design, user experience, and project or change management.
- BS/BA in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Graphic Design, or equivalent work experience.
- In depth knowledge of design and presentation software, including but not limited to: Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace. Experience with Figma, Adobe XD, Abstract, and Jira are a plus.
- Working knowledge of design systems, design thinking, and the creative process
- Strong operational and facilitation skills, with a proven ability to plan, coordinate and execute on continual process improvement
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and project team members up, down, and across an organization
- Active listener with the ability to describe technical information in easily understood terms
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff to achieve desired outcomes and build strong alliances and relationships
- Agency experience is a plus
