Group Creative Director
The Creative Group at closerlook, a member of Fishawack Health, is a data-driven, conceptual creative team focused on what matters most: Better health outcomes for patients and greater business impact for the brands that serve them.

The Group Creative Director (GCD) leads the winning, activation, and development of creative work. he GCD articulates and leads teams in developing creative concepts, considering the audience insight at their root and planning for their expression across channels. The GCD is constantly looking to push the work to new heights and challenging the team to make creative breakthroughs that drives results.
The GCD shapes great work in advance by gathering and sharing inspiring work, reviewing creative briefs, and assisting in estimating work. The GCD and their teams develop great work on a consistent basis, on time and on budget.
closerlook seeks a digital-native, conceptual thinker for the GCD role. Experience as a creative leader in pharma-marketing, with a history of winning and growing accounts and developing award-winning campaigns, is a must. Experience with buy-and-bill treatments preferred.
The GCD will direct a team of creatives from the start on work for two existing clients, as well as on pursuits. Management responsibilities (career development for direct reports, authoring performance reviews, etc.) will follow in year one.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports organic-growth opportunities and other new-business opportunities with creative leadership and execution.
  • Leads teams in creating award-winning work.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make creative decisions that are sound both creatively and strategically and can explain those decisions thoughtfully to clients and partners across functions.
  • Understands what kinds of projects demand innovation and which may demand tried-and-true, flawless execution.
  • Leads internal and client-facing creative meetings, facilitating both clients and agency personnel through the feedback process.
  • Develops staff and delegates responsibilities to free the GCD to assist with multiple engagements.
  • Leads the effort to establish, instill, and evolve creative best practices at closerlook.
  • Contributes to and leads creative-concept and creative-treatment development for marketing campaigns.
  • Communicates actively with teams to keep deliverables on track and on schedule.
  • Advises clients on business and marketing matters that extend beyond the creative artifact itself.
  • Participates in development and evolution of the closerlook creative process and closerlook workflow practices.
  • Provides sufficient input, mentoring and coaching to creative staff to ensure adherence to closerlook core values and judicious balance of creative discipline (with regard to craft and budget) and best-in-class work.
  • Partners with Project Delivery, Managing Director, and Chief Creative Officer in navigating critical staff needs and seeking appropriate approvals.
  • Identifies and attract outside talent, full-time and freelance, to closerlook


REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 12+ years of experience as an advertising- or marketing-agency creative.
  • 6+ years of experience as a manager.
  • Experience as a creative leader in pharma-marketing, with a history of winning and growing accounts and developing award-winning campaigns, is a must.
  • Experience with buy-and-bill treatments preferred.
  • Demonstrates careful attention to detail in every aspect of his or her work.
  • Demonstrates expertise in directing writing and design of interactive, motion-media and print projects.
  • Demonstrates expertise in analyzing problems, anticipating consequences and eliminating obstacles to successfully complete projects.
  • Exhibits a high level of creative and problem-solving skills in every project they work on.
  • Experience art directing photography and video shoots, and an understanding of the appropriate role of photography and motion-media in any given marketing tactic and campaign.
  • Is a team-player with a positive attitude.
  • Can motivate a team and calm a team, depending on what the team needs in the moment.
  • Has empathy for the client's point of view and fosters that empathy across the project team.
  • Possesses the willingness and ability to adapt the work to accommodate new customer insight and client preferences.
