As a member of the HR Learning and Development team at Apex, the Instructional Designer has a big impact on the firm. You'll work across all our different businesses and have genuine opportunities to shape the future of our HR efforts and reinforce a growing, thriving culture. We are looking for a motivated and energetic person, who is passionate about advancing learning experiences. This position requires a tech-savvy educational enthusiast to design and develop learning programs.
You'll be responsible for:
- Collaborating with various individuals that are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design training programs aligned with competencies and strategic learning opportunities
- Developing engaging learning experiences, including facilitation guides, online learning modules, materials, exercises, activities, and assessments
- Creating compelling course content utilizing written text, visual graphics, video, audio, interactivity, gamification, and situation-based learning
- Setting learning objectives, define measurements of success, and create content that meets our SMEs needs
- Developing and deploying modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the learning experience
- Monitoring the effectiveness and quality of training programs
- Analyzing and applying trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design
- Collaborating to maintain and strengthen training programs, including templates, guidelines, and training materials
- Facilitating training courses through Instructor Led Training (ILT) in both live and virtual environments as needed
- Maintaining and Supporting the Learning Management System (LMS) or External Learning Platform
You'll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:

- 2-4 years of instructional design experience
- Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with designing learning programs based on business needs
- In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Strong skills in technical writing, curriculum writing, or lesson planning
- Experience writing instructional text, audio and video scripts
- The ability to move quickly and iterate - scaling pilots to bigger efforts
- Advanced skills in Power Point, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google products
- Experience in Audio and Video production and editing (Camtasia, Premier Pro, Audacity, Vyond, etc.)
- Experience in e-learning development software (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Lectora)
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design tools
- Experience with Learning Management Systems, Workday preferred (e.g. Saba, Cornerstone, Skillsoft, Lessonly, SuccessFactors)
