The Junior Production Designer is responsible for supporting the retail creative team with development of specific retail assets, including weekly in-store packaging, digital assets for web, and finalizing files for final print production. This role is an integral part of the Home Chef marketing team, as it plays a major role in the creation of retail packaging.
Responsibility Area: Production
- Use existing template files to complete weekly packaging
- Prep existing files to be print ready (packaging, retail merchandising)
- Help the design team finalize merchandising pieces, packaging, and all other brand materials in retail
- Attention to detail and organizational file skills
- Must have understanding of: final file release (dielines, resolution, cmyk vs rgb, retouching, etc)
- Basic photo editing skills in Adobe Photoshop
Responsibility Area: Creative
- Understanding of the Adobe creative suite with a high level understanding of typography and overall layout
- Collaborate with the creative and FSQA team to create multiple versions of an existing design or concept
- Must have an understanding of both print and digital work and how to finalize files accurately
- Create on-brand and consistent designs for retail
Responsibility Area: Project Management
- Ability to work quickly with oftentimes tight timelines
- A high level of organization, focus and detail for the task at hand
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once and prioritize to ensure all deadlines are met
- Ability to work in Home Chef's project management platform
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability and/or other characteristics needed for this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.
- Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Sketch
- 1-2 years of previous design experience
- Completion of a four-year degree program
- An up-to-date portfolio of both digital and print work showcasing a variety of e-comm and retail work
- Understanding of typography, color, composition, and final production
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
- Experience with both e-commerce and retail design is preferred, especially retail
