FLASH is seeking a Lead Product Designer to drive the transformation and evolution of our digital solutions. In this role, you will lead Product Design with a focus on elevating user experiences, solving real-world problems and helping users seamlessly get to their destination - across our B2C and B2B offerings. You will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Developers, Data Analysts, and functional leaders from marketing, sales, and business development. This is a high impact role - reporting into the VP of Product - that requires the ability to solve problems with the end user at the forefront.

Our mission is to deliver a first-class user experience across our web, native mobile, and partner platforms. We have a data-centric, collaborative, and iterative culture where feedback and open communication are encouraged.

What you'll do

  • Mentor and empower Product Designers throughout the product development process
  • Contribute to and help establish our design system
  • Iterate and respond to ideas for innovation and improvements based on data, research, analysis, or competitive reviews
  • Work with developers to discuss experiences, animations, asset handoff, tradeoffs and other needs in the delivery process
  • Communicate your design decisions to stakeholders
  • Contribute to high-level strategic decisions within the Product team
  • Own experiences from discovery through delivery including participation in user research, concepting, mockup creation, delivery to developers, and Visual QA

What we're looking for

  • Ability to manage Product Design operations including leading design processes and building design systems
  • Desire to build and scale the Design Team as we continue to grow and create seamless user experiences in the mobility space
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to spread user empathy throughout the organization
  • Prior experience on a product team - designing native applications
  • Ability to drive the prioritization and coordination of design work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with the execution of user research methods including user interviews, usability studies, survey creation and analysis, and diary studies
  • Ability to create UX deliverables including user journeys, user flows, competitive analyses, prototypes, etc.
  • Execution of high-fidelity mockups and the ability to deliver designs to developers for devices or platforms with varying technical needs
  • Expertise with design tools such as Sketch and Zeplin, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with style guides and design systems
  • A portfolio demonstrating clean execution of product solutions is required. The ability to communicate design decisions is a must

Nice to haves

  • Experience working with Data teams
  • Degree in Design, HCI, or related disciplines

What projects are you most excited about?

We know from our best users that they want to book in-app, they want it to be as seamless as possible & they want to be in control. What is your vision for the company?

The world of transportation is going to change fast in the coming years - with autonomous, electric and connected vehicles, hyper-fast trains and flying cars! We will connect that world to the space around it - helping cars of the future get from A to B with ease and get serviced, charged or simply park for a few hours waiting for the next ride.

Dan Roarty

What’s the vibe like in the office?

Our culture is open and flexible and allows for folks with common interests to take breaks to chat and share. There are people from across all departments and levels jumping in on the fun. It's that sort of thing that makes the downtime enjoyable but the business better as well, b/c we build great relationships with our colleagues.
