Product Design Lead
The Product Design Lead is responsible for Origami's web and mobile user interfaces. The Product Design Lead will be responsible not only for designing solutions that build on the existing application(s), but also growing and leading a team of designers. This includes implementing a design process consisting of all phases such as discovery, ideation, mockups, handoff, and post-delivery measurement. The Product Design Lead will ensure adoption of the Design System, Style Guide, and general best practices resulting in an optimized user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) within the Origami web and mobile applications.

Responsibilities
• Establishes strong working relationships with all stakeholders including market strategists, technical product managers, design team, engineers, service team members, and others as defined.
• Builds a process for all steps of the design process from discover/research to post-delivery collaboration and auditing.
• Ensures adherence by all designers to the established design process and buy-in by all department leads.
• Leads design reviews with other product team members to ensure consistency across our designs in addition to well-designed solutions.
• Helps shape and improve our internal product development process, from story creation and outcome identification through delivery.
• Creates modular UI patterns - from structural layouts to micro-interactions - for global use across the Origami platform.
• Works with product managers to design mockups, wireframes, user flows, and/or functional prototypes.
• In conjunction with design team members, designs highly configurable web and mobile applications, understanding native mobile and browser constraints and best practices.
• Cultivates a team culture that is excited to design thoughtful solutions and understands the value of this work.
• Mentors, trains, and champions team members; fills resource gaps where appropriate by first exploiting bottlenecks and then adding resources as needed.
• Performs team member review, evaluation, and compensation processes.
• Identifies, provides, and coordinates additional training and development opportunities for team members.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's/Master's degree - Library/Information Science, Information Architecture or Human-Computer Interaction
• 3+ years' experience leading a team in product design, ideally B2B cloud platform-related, web and mobile
• 5+ years' experience with standards-based, cross-browser, multi-device product design
• Demonstrable expertise at implementing design systems, from concept to delivery
• Experience with XHTML, HTML5, and CSS3
• Relevant portfolio of successful examples of design work, storyboards, wireframes, or other deliverables
