Job Description
The Senior Principal Technical UX/UI Product Designer will join the Discover technology Academy (DTA) and help to evangelize best practices, provide learning and career paths, foster community collaboration and innovation. The Senior Principal Technical UX/UI Product Designer will have a passion for applying the six phases of design — - Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test and Implement. The Senior Principal Technical UX/UI Product Designer will start with understanding the end users, their problems and pain points, will collaborates effectively, is eager for feedback and is quickly able to iterate and ideate.
This unique UX/UI designer will have significant experience in the implementation phase - skilled in UI and interaction design, someone who can bring ideas to life with css, scss, html, js, and svg animations. They must be passionate about responsive design, accessibility and adding that little extra to a UI that elevates the experience from good to delightful.
The designer needs to be inquisitive – keeping an eye on the latest trends, tool, technique and processes to help us move smart and faster. This designer will not only help build define and shape the future of DTA but also help build and refine the Discover Digital Design Library. The goal is to build a fully responsive, accessible and scalable component library that will be utilized across all of Discovers products and platforms including internal, external and B2B solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develops design concepts, wireframes, prototypes, usage scenarios, task analysis, specifications and + other UX / UI design deliverables.
Participates in the product definition process with the team and drive the clarification of the user tasks and objectives.
Understands the target users’ needs, motivations, and behaviors as it relates to a specific project or area.
Balances technical and delivery constraints when creating accessible and engaging user interfaces based on complex requirements and tight deadlines
Utilizes Usability testing or A/B testing to present and validate design solutions.
Very important Articulates user experience design issues effectively. Presents and builds consensus around design thinking and rationale with peers and stakeholders.
Qualifications You’ll Need
The Basics:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design or Information Technology
8+ years of experience in UX design or UI development or related
In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in UX design or UI development or related
Bonus Points If You Have
Certification in Design Thinking
Certification in UX Design
