Job Description

Do you love the challenge of taking any user-experience journey and making it simple and intuitive, but also beautiful, engaging and interesting? We are looking for a passionate and experienced designer to work closely with our user experience (UX) designers and other design specialists, to bring their vision to life on every page and every step a user will experience on our websites.

As the Sr. UI Designer on the Global Digital Marketing team, you will leverage your knowledge of conceptual design thinking and your expertise in graphic and interactive design skills to shape web page composition and layouts and create intuitive wayfinding cues that drive engagement and support demand generation.

You will also be responsible for establishing, maintaining and evolving enterprise-level visual and documentation standards and best practices in our Digital Experience system (DES). Your role includes influencing and supporting our larger global team of UI designers to ensure design integrity and application of brand standards across all digital platforms that make up our digital ecosystem. 

Additional Knowledge/Skills:

• Experience creating, improving and effectively communicating and defending recommended interaction ideas to teams and stakeholders using wireframes, prototypes, style guides and user flows.

• Expertise in standard UI software such as Sketch,InVision, Zeplin, Illustrator and Photoshop.

• Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

• Ability to work with stakeholders and partners to understand the content strategy and design visual representations to best showcase their content and drive engagement and interest.

• A deep understanding of design thinking principles and foundational principles that make user-friendly web pages (like balance of colors, textures and interactive elements), to guide creative execution across digital properties like MotorolaSolutions.com.

• Experience working in agile/scrum software development methodologies a plus.

• Strong project management and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail; able to multi-task and work under short deadlines.

• Be able to build productive, positive working relationships internally and externally and collaborate and communicate closely with them to regularly deliver design solutions.

• Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.

• Obsess about solving user pain points through creative design. 

• Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism. 

• Be passionate about all things UI and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies. 

• History managing or leveraging design systems for medium to large scale enterprise brands.

• Experience in the technology sector a plus

• Experience/knowledge of government or public safety market a plus

• Front-end development experience a plus

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a design related field (Human computer interaction design, industrial design, design communication), Business or Marketing.

• 6+ years of UI design experience, 2+ years of experience in interactive or motion design
