The success of ALEX has exceeded our wildest work-related dreams, which is why we need a talented User Experience (UX) Designer to help us.

We’re looking for this person to join us in our Chicago office, while working remotely with the ability to return to the local office when permitted.

How you’ll help

As a UX Designer working on the Jellyvision Design team, you will be responsible for delivering delightful and intuitive product experience designs based on a deep understanding of customer and user goals. • Develop scenarios, task flows, and wireframes to communicate detailed interaction behaviors and design strategies.
  • Design, develop/build, test, and refine lightweight prototypes at the beginning of the iterative design process.
  • Help coordinate end-user research initiatives, create test stimuli (prototypes, wireframes, surveys, etc.), collaborating closely with User Researchers to validate design solutions.
  • Present recommendations to business stakeholders and technical teams to influence decisions that ultimately result in building the right products.
  • Influence and socialize the user-centered design process.
  • Champion the needs of the user within the company.
  • Facilitate and lead design and brainstorming sessions with cross-functional teams.
  • Help to inform the product roadmap.
  • Manage a dynamic workload to balance priorities with deadlines to effectively meet project needs.

Experience & skills you’ll need

  • 5+ years of experience designing enterprise or web software experiences.
  • Expert in information architecture, user-centered design methods, and current web and mobile design patterns.
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about usability and modern experience design best practices.
  • Proficient with design and prototyping tools such as Axure, Adobe XD, Adobe CC, Sketch, InVision or equivalent.
  • Experience documenting or participating in business and user experience design discovery and requirements gathering activities.
  • Ability to solve complex and often ambiguous problems through design iteration.
  • Hands-on experience with HTML and CSS and familiarity with a wide range of front-end technologies is a plus.
  • General understanding of visual design concepts including grids, typography, color harmony, and an understanding of how overall aesthetic details impact the user experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and proven ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams.

Skills:

An Insider's view of Jellyvision

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

Jellyvision is a place where I truly feel like leadership wants me to be healthy/happy. They really show me they want you to have a work/life balance. The company does everything they can to avoid unwarranted stress with unlimited PTO, flexible Working From Home, emails reminding me to take care of myself, and ways to get help from my teammates.

Drew

Implementation Manager

What makes someone successful on your team?

The product team is full of self-driven, curious, scrappy individuals. The most successful are the least afraid of jumping into ambiguity and getting creative in overcoming the numerous obstacles thrown at them every day. Their ability to adapt to change quickly while keeping their teams calm, cool, and collected makes the job look easy!

Brynna

Principal Product Manager, New Concepts

What unique initiatives do you have that encourage innovation?

Implementation is a team of ballers, constantly impressing me with new ideas. Our most recent ideas are new classes around Professional Development and a pilot approach to quickly implement customers. These ideas came from folks on the team. When my coworkers have these ideas, my job is to give them the support and resources to run with them.

Alex

VP of Implementation

What are Jellyvision Perks + Benefits

Jellyvision Benefits Overview

* Competitive pay, 401(k) with matching and benefits. We pay 100% of the cost of premiums for medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance for our employees (as long as you qualify for our tobacco-free discount; if you’re a tobacco user, your medical premiums will be higher than $0). We also cover a really nice chunk of the cost of premiums for spouse/dependent medical, dental and vision insurance.

* Casual dress and a flexible schedule. Come in a sweatshirt, jeans, whatever, like everyone else here.
Creative work environment. We are lucky to work in a place that is full of intelligent, talented and innovative folks. Although most hours the place is deathly quiet (we're a focused bunch), this is punctuated with hilarious outbursts and general merriment, which makes a nice way to spend the day.

* Free food. Every week, we stock our kitchen with free healthy snack foods, and we have a catered lunch every other week to give people a reason to hang out and eat together.

* Easy transportation and lots of love for folks who bike to work. We’re really close to the North/Clybourn red line stop and the Halsted (#8) bus (right by the Apple Store and Mega Whole Foods too), and we have a transit FSA that allows you to dedicate pre-tax dollars to public transportation expenses. A number of our employees like to bike to work, so we also have bike storage, showers and lockers in the office. And for those without their own bike in the city, we offer free divvy memberships – complete with Jellyvision bike helmets you can borrow from the office.

* Did we mention our yoga and meditation classes? We bring a pro instructor right to the office. Fully subsidized by Jellyvision and fully optional, btw.

* Oh! And we have a massage chair. Not just any massage chair, my friend. It’s the Renew 2 Zero-Gravity Massage Chair by Brookstone®. Feeling a little stiff? Sit down. Relax. Feel better? Good. Okay, back to work.
