Job Description

At Daxko, our product design team consists of UX generalists who lead the full spectrum of user research, interaction design, visual design, and usability testing. The UX Designer’s primary responsibility will be to craft user experiences that set our products apart from the competition by truly understanding our customer’s needs and delivering valuable solutions to market problems.

This is a great opportunity for growth, experimentation, and the challenge to create something truly remarkable – all while having the support of an executive team that understands the importance of a Lean UX process. As a UX Designer, you will help shape the vision for groundbreaking applications that affect millions of people in their daily health and fitness routines. The UX Designer reports to the Director, Product Management.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Proven track record of collaborating with product managers, technical leads, customers, and other stakeholders to understand, define, and clarify requirements.
  • Experience earning buy-in for ideas, designs, and best practices, as well as motivating and inspiring stakeholders.
  • Use research methods such as participatory design, ethnographic studies, and user interviews to learn how users think and behave. Use that research to help drive your innovative concepts forward.
  • Experience creating and validating personas and leveraging that knowledge to help your team make better decisions.
  • Comfortable quickly creating low fidelity concepts for developers or for feedback from customers or other stakeholders.
  • Experience producing high-fidelity designs using tools like Invision, Sketch, Figma or Adobe XD, and working with developers to implement.
  • Experience partnering with Product to identify and validate problems worth solving.
  • Experience validating designs with users through usability testing methods such as unmoderated testing, moderated testing, and A/B testing, as well as comfort learning and using the tools needed to facilitate testing.
  • Comfortable facilitating workshops to identify/understand user needs.
  • Ability to seek out and interpret data that may help inform design decisions. Comfort learning and leveraging analytics tools (like Pendo or Google Analytics) to draw insights from user behavior.
  • Apply lean UX best practices to your UX responsibilities.
  • Be a tireless advocate for exceptional user experience.
  • Help develop design patterns and apply them to your designs.
  • Less than 10% travel required based on research needs.


Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Detail oriented, manages time and objectives effectively
  • Excellent communicator in person, on the phone, in email
  • Loves testing out new approaches, knows how to measure the impact and adjust
  • A positive attitude and a passion for working with strong, collaborative teams. 
  • Not afraid of conflict – able to check your ego at the door for the benefit of the product and team
  • Flexible - change and uncertainty don’t faze you
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies—Scrum and Kanban in particular
  • Demonstrated ability to work with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand, analyze, and document requirements
  • Ability to use wireframing tools to prototype new functionality
  • Strong visual design skills
  • Strong interaction design skills
  • Knowledgeable with web frameworks such as Bootstrap, and iOS and Android human interface guidelines including Android material design
  • Experience in user research and testing

Required Education and Experience:

  • At least two (2) years of relevant UX design experience
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies—Scrum and Kanban in particular

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Two (2) or four (4) year degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Four (4+) years of experience designing business-oriented web or mobile applications
  • Pendo experience is a plus
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Lean UX methods and tools
  • Enterprise software design experience strongly preferred
  • Prior experience working with an Agile Product Owner strongly preferred
  • Experience working with remote teams a plus
