About The Role

G2 is looking for a hard-working UX/UI Designer with strong Research skills to join our Product Research and Development team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about UX Research, being a voice for the user, and leveraging data driven design decisions to make business impact. You will be working within a well-established team delivering features to over 5M visitors each month, while supporting the mission by owning the G2 product experience and visual design. You will work with a decentralized team of UX/UI professionals as well as business owners to drive strategy and direction to deliver a marketplace vision. Additionally, you will work closely with product managers, marketers, data analysts and engineers in an agile environment to drive the planning, strategy, testing and delivery of new features, executing on the Product R&D roadmap.

In This Role, You Will: 

• Design Process: You manage user research & discovery, the creation of low and high fidelity wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes in order to validate and execute new product and feature ideas. You follow the established design process of a consistent and effective system to drive a cohesive product portfolio experience.
• Communication: You are able to clearly communicate to technical and non-technical teams the impact based on research to drive the greatest impact within G2 internal teams. You will manage the execution and documentation of discovery sessions with users and customers.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: You collaborate with front-end and back-end development team members to create effective product experiences. You coordinate across the teams to establish design priorities that drive the most impactful business results.
• Analytics and Testing:You run quantitative and qualitative tests and distill results into actionable plans for development initiatives. You are able to speak across the G2 internal organization and strategic partners to guide alignment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience in a UI/UX Design or Research role in software, preferably working with consumer-facing websites, apps, software and/or mobile experiences.
• Strong skills in UX Research and validation including discovery design, user journey and affinity mapping, competitive analysis, usability testing, a/b testing.
• Desire to be part of a team that values human-centered design, design thinking and high-quality work.
• Strong visual design instincts with proven UI experience, including but not limited to, concepts, prototypes, and data visualizations.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and practices.
• Ability to anticipate problems, and seek opportunities.
• Organized with high attention to detail.
• Values an inclusive and authentic team culture.
• Desire to bring whole self to work by authentically contributing to team growth and professional development.
• Designing in an iterative agile environment is a plus.
• Awareness of Adobe Creative Suite, Abstract and Sketch in a mac environment; knowledge of Amplitude or another user insight tool a plus.
