Amount, Inc. seeks Associate Software Engineer in Chicago, IL.

 

Duties: Work with other engineers and technical product managers to write, test, and deploy code safely and automatically to production. Work in Ruby and Javascript (Typescript, React, and GraphQL) along with some Python, R, and Elixir. Contribute to tooling as well as our technology architecture and direction. Contribute to open-source initiatives. Participate as high level technical expert in design development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software for third party customers Work with technical staff to understand problems with software and develop specifications to resolve them. Run large-sized projects that impact the team and small/medium projects impacting the department. Work on analysis/code that is moderately complex or multiple components of a broader analysis/code. Onboard several bank partners onto our white label lending platform by providing APIs and configurability. Expand our unsecured installment loan product and launch a new credit card product. Power our credit decisioning, credit pricing, fraud prevention, customer verification, and credit reports. Create workflows and the backend that powers internal service tools and provide external visibility to our partners.

 

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field (or its foreign equivalent), plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or closely related role. Requires 2 years of experience with computer science fundamentals and coding/testing best practices. Requires at least 3 years of experience with: Ruby, Javascript (Typescript, React), and Python; Tooling, technology architecture and direction; Design development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software; and SQL.
