Our technology team in Chicago is looking for a DataOps Lead to lead, support and extend our platform for our rapidly growing lending businesses. We are seeking very strong hands-on candidates who want to be part of an exciting and challenging technology team in a startup atmosphere.

What You'll Be Doing:

• As a member of the DB team, serve as the Postgres database guru and Data SME for the BI and Analytics functions
• Design and Develop database structures and functions in support of building data as an asset for the business
• Participate in system and database design
• Perform OLAP and OLPT queries optimization
• Develop ad-hoc queries and reports on demand with short turnaround times as determined by ongoing business priorities
• Assist in the administration of automated/scheduled reports and data extracts
• Stay up to date with tools, trends, and technologies in the FinTech space
• Participate in Agile activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, coordinating with end users, application developers and the quality assurance teams

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 5+ years’ relevant database development experience
• Critical thinker that can develop solutions based on business/product stakeholders needs understanding the technical ramifications of those solutions
• Previous experience with Postgres DB
• Strong knowledge of relational theory: database design, normalization, functional dependencies
• Optimization experience, understanding of differences in optimization for OLTP/OLAP
• Prior Knowledge of database procedural language preferably plpgsql for Postgres
• Experience with Git (Github & BitBucket), Jira and Confluence
• Experience working in an Agile or Lean Software Development such as Kanban, Scrum and Test-Driven Development
• Ability to thrive in startup environment with heavy workload, competing priorities, and less structure than more established company

What Makes You Stand Out:

• Previous experience in the financial industry with lending products a plus
• Knowledge of Foreign Data Wrappers and foreign tables is a plus
• Knowledge of pg tap is a plus.
