The Challenge

We are looking for an enthusiastic DevOps Engineer to join us and ensure that our customers are thrilled with our platform. Our team is small, so you’ll have the opportunity to effect real change in this role. You’ll be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our CICD pipeline which requires knowledge of Jenkins, AWS and Terraform scripting. You should thrive in an environment that moves quickly and allows you room to tinker and figure things out for yourself. You will have the support of your team for training and guidance, but you should love learning by way of rolling up your sleeves and getting into the product.

The Skillset

• Clear, concise, and effective communication skills 
• Passion for solving challenging problems 
• 2+ years of experience in DevOps or Software Development (SaaS product experience is a plus!) 
• 1+ years of experience with AWS and Jenkins 
• 2+ years of experience using configuration management tools including Terraform 
• Familiarity with building and/or supporting production applications in Kubernetes 

In 30 days, you will...

• Get to know oak9! Learn about our systems, processes, people, and vision 
• Become intimately familiar with cloud service provider offerings and security considerations associated with them 
• Work closely with the Development team to design, deliver, and manage our services with high resiliency, availability, and performance 
• Partner with network and security teams to implement structure, connectivity, and security of our cloud environments 
• Implement clean and maintainable infrastructure-as-code that adheres to industry best practices 

In 60 days, you will...

• Create and enhance automated testing to improve our infrastructure 
• Suggest and implement improvements to the build, test, and deployment processes 
• Participate in the design and execution of significant platform architecture changes 

In 90 days, you will...

• Perform incident resolution and root cause analysis of critical outages 
• Assist with documentation of the environments that support our products
