Description
PURPOSE:
To support enterprise wide service offering for business units and internal system owners in the content authoring, development, publishing and managing of experiences on Cat.com and other digital properties. This role also serves as digital product owner for Dealer.Cat.com developing strategy and managing execution through delivery of strategic planning for Dealer.Cat.com, including understanding of dealer needs, gap assessment of existing platform, creation and curation of platform roadmap, and execution of business solutions and information technology applications.

JOB DUTIES:
This leadership position will envision the future of dealer and customer engagement at Caterpillar, including partnering with business units to develop, validate, and drive a digital experience roadmap that identifies where we will focus, how we will get there, and the sequence of activities required to meet our business goals and digital customer experience objectives.
Collaborate with others across our dealers, our digital and marketing organization and the business to define objectives and develop approaches to solving challenges. The role must be able to lead a team to translate business objectives into action plans to drive execution against business objectives. The leader must foster a work environment that is collaborative and nurtures innovation and communicate and partner effectively across the organization to ensure that the team is aligned to the business objectives and can do the job effectively.
This position supervises a team of content authors, content specialists, and digital consultants that aligns and executes with the strategic direction, capability utilization and management, process management and governance, best practice creation and documentation, measurement and analytics, and supporting integration with other business processes to ensure proper customer journeys and experience in the Caterpillar digital space.
Responsibilities include supervising the staff and projects related to developing business and technical solutions and implementing common operating procedures to provide process functionality to enable effectiveness and efficiency.
Typical internal customers include various contacts throughout Caterpillar worldwide and its subsidiaries. External contacts include various customers, dealers, and vendors throughout worldwide markets. The position is challenged to carefully evaluate problems and provide input into a large number of possible solutions before selecting one option. Problems are complex and can require the incumbent to develop and monetize new solutions. The incumbent follows general policies and guidelines for projects under his/her control to ensure specific, management goals are met and desired results are achieved. Impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, and Reoccurring Revenue, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Cost Savings, Process Quality, etc.
The position leads a team of primarily management/professional employees where some review
of subordinate work is required as well as training, development, active coaching and mentoring. The position is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates, as well as overall employee satisfaction for the division.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
The position requires a relevant degree and more than 8-10 years of progressively complex digital
experience generally gained through staff and supervisory assignments in Information Technology-related roles.
Requires general understanding of basic business operations including the technical infrastructure and general business processes, strong financial acumen, business unit experience and understanding of dealer processes.
The incumbent must have a strong customer focus, possess dealer and customer experience, knowledge of company products, product applications, and customer workflow. The incumbent must have ability to provide strategic direction for effectively managing staff, budgets, business plans, one-year project plans and developing 2-5 year plans with customers and IS. Requires ability to work with diversified departments within larger service centers and larger business units along with effective oral and written communications skills.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree required
-3+ years of Project Management experience
-5+ years of experience in information technology or marketing planning and operations, system design and deployment, systems or process lifecycle management
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
-Direct supervisory role with demonstrated ability to lead the team.
-Direct experience in managing internal or external software development teams.
-Advanced Degree preferred
-Experience managing annual or project budgets of $2-10M
-Demonstrated ability to manage and launch projects.
-Experience with project implementations.
-Leadership experience of a major business strategy program (analysis, selling idea, executing strategy development, successful transfer of organization for realization of strategy)
-Understanding of content management systems, including optimal usage, governance and optimizations
-Business case or opportunity canvas development; Defining needed team, budget, resources, critical path, roadblocks, risks, etc.
-Demonstrated excellent planning and organizational skills with an established track record of positively influencing change
-Familiar with project management methodologies (Waterfall and Agile)
