 About The Role

We’re starting a new financial product vertical and have the initial MVP built and in production. We need a strong leader who understands how and when to evaluate building versus buying software.  You’ll be helping build up a small team to design and build core features and flush out integrations with vendors, focus on innovation, and collaborate with DevOps and Security.

You’ll play a key role in setting the technical goals and strategy for delivering our consumer products. Our organization values clear communication, transparency, and collaboration. We drive progress by small iterations and reflecting on how we can best work together.

 What You’ll Do

• Design and execute a recruiting strategy to build up a new diverse and inclusive engineering team
• Be responsible for the technical vision and strategy of the engineering organization
• Work with the leadership team to produce and deliver the engineering roadmap
• Mentor engineers and sponsor them for the right projects to deliver the best product while growing their skillset
• Identify and promote engineering best practices
• Advise leadership team on technical feasibility and implications of product decisions

 What We Look For

• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams
• 5+ years of experience building and deploying scalable applications in the cloud using an open source language such as JavaScript, Python, or Ruby (JavaScript would be preferred!)
• Expertise in scoping large projects and initiatives into small iterations for release
• Clear and efficient communication skills
• Mentorship skills and the ability to give well-crafted constructive feedback
• Experience in a startup environment is not required but would be a plus
