The Devices organization is responsible for designing and manufacturing support of rugged handheld and mobile communication devices.

Job Description

The Director of Software Engineering - Devices will lead the development teams to define, architect, and develop software solutions for products within Devices organization. This role will be an Agile development champion with a particular focus on customer-centric and design-led product engineering. This role will lead the following teams:

  • DSP development for Devices
  • Android Core SW Platform for Devices
  • Application SW for Devices 

 

Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree with 10+ years of software development in technology driven company
  • Experience in Android platform and real time embedded systems
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience simultaneously leading multiple diverse projects with complex requirements and challenging timelines 
  • Experience with both practicing and customizing Agile development methodologies, including experience leading projects with multiple scrum teams 
  • Ability to be proactive and comfortable iteratively transforming minimal specifications to well-defined requirements and development goals
  • Experience in managing engineering operations, budget planning and hiring/retaining/mentoring talented engineers
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations 
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs

Basic Requirements

Bachelors Degree

10+ years of engineering experience

5+ years of leadership experience
