Job Description

2nd Watch (www.2ndwatch.com) is a global systems integrator based in the US, and we specialize in helping enterprise customers migrate their infrastructure to the cloud using the majority of opensource technologies. We’re well funded, growing rapidly and have already established an impeccable track record of customer success across the country.

We’re looking for a Director- Managed Cloud Engineering & Architecture to work closely with our enterprise managed services customers and lead the Managers and Managed Services teams engineering efforts across the organization.

You'll bring your Enterprise Operations, Cloud Devops, or IT Professional Services experience to a dynamic and growing company and be the driver behind cloud services delivery for both traditional enterprise workloads and cloud native workloads. Your expertise in cloud native deployment patterns and traditional enterprise application workloads will be critical in leading your team servicing customer cloud operations. Responsibilities:

· Mentor and lead a cloud engineering and architecture practice focused on managing, maintaining, and growing our clients’ cloud services footprints across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

· Develop best practices for cloud delivery spanning both traditional enterprise and cloud native workloads.

· Continually fulfill enterprise client’s multi-cloud needs and initiatives through comprehensive resource planning, team leadership, and delivery excellence.

· Collaborate with your team and peers to build capacity and skill set planning models and perform market research to inform the roadmap and understand the competition.

· Assist in the creation and operationalization of new managed cloud services focused on cloud native deployments, Devops, and data management solutions.

· Assist in the creation of service delivery automation assets through cooperative development with the cloud platform team

Qualifications

· 10+ years of enterprise cloud/ multi cloud engineering expertise in a consultative environment, or equivalent, experience in the public cloud industry with a proven track record of product ownership and success growing products and services.

· Significant exposure and knowledge of the public cloud market with a focus on cloud-native solutions.

· Experience managing and working in cloud native Devops teams.

· Solid knowledge of traditional enterprise and cloud native deployment patterns, including management of teams providing support for same.

· Demonstrated ability to communicate with stakeholders clearly. Ability to own execution without continuous oversight.

· Demonstrated delivery team management experience in an operational environment management capacity.

· Solid understanding of NIST cloud service models including implementations involving IaaS and PaaS.

· Knowledge of database fundamentals in cloud environments a plus.

· Knowledge of enterprise data management / analytics systems a plus.

· Knowledge of cloud security and cloud governance models a plus.
