Your role in helping us shape the future:
Be a part of an innovative, fast-paced group as Intelsat continue to enhance its lab testing capabilities. You will be part of a team responsible for the hw maintenance and upgrade of lab test equipment as well as satcom systems and its components, installation of new hw to support and/or upgrade test capabilities, development and execution of test cases for the validation of the environment and functionality prior to handoff to other teams for testing/development. This individual must have a proven track record of troubleshooting complex lab environment/components, meeting schedules, identifying, and mitigating risks, and communicating effectively. A strong background in Satellite RF, Lab Test Systems, System Test and VSAT systems is desired.
Are you up to the challenge?

• Implementation and maintenance of the Intelsat Satellite Communication Lab network environment to ensure highest availability of the test environment to all users.
• Implement and support pre-production tests/environments configurations
• Support the expansion of lab infrastructure upgrades/changes to meet user demands
• Support/lead Tier 1 for satcom lab bench issue resolution
• Position requires occasional local travel to other test locations in Chicago
• Other duties as assigned.
• Lead Tier 1 satcom lab bench issue resolution: infrastructure/lab system maintenance and upgrades.

You should definitely have:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related technology (experience in lieu of a degree will be considered)
• A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the satellite and/or telecommunications industry.
• A minimum of 1-2 years supporting test lab environments or related experience
• Understanding of satellite networks and test environments
• Must be self-motivated and can work autonomously with minimal supervision in a highly visible, fluid environment.
• Technical competency in the following areas:
  • RF test equipment use and troubleshooting (i.e. Spectrum Analyzer, Power meters etc ...)
  • Ku modem systems or equivalent functionality
• Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills including delivery of presentations and the ability to listen to and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary lab users

It would be nice if you had:

• Experience with Gilat Satellite Networks VSAT Platforms
• Understanding of lab test environments and functionality testing
