We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a FEA Engineer.
The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Duties/Responsibilities may Include, but are not limited to:
- Interacting with design engineers to understand project scope and technical requirements
- Creating an appropriate analysis strategy and timeline
- Meeting milestone dates
- Interpreting and communicating results
- Making recommendations, performing lab validation, and writing technical reports
- Duties could include completing research to enhance core competency of the group
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- At least 3 years of FEA (linear and non-linear) experience using ABAQUS
- Design and development of components using virtual product development
- Demonstrated ability to write technical reports (e.g., published journal articles, books, etc.)
- Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving and teamwork skills
- Experience working in lab environment to validate analysis
- Initiative, self-starter, requiring little supervision
- Experience with 3D modeling tools CREO, SOLIDWORKS, etc.
- Desire and ability to demonstrate high level to attention to detail
Top Candidates will also have:
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Basic knowledge of non-linear FEA using ABAQUS with emphasis on rubber modelling
- Good understanding of engineering mechanics, with strong mechanical and spatial aptitude
- Willingness to work on a broad range of rubber components, and do whatever it takes to deliver the results
- Customer focus, sense of urgency and quality
- Basic knowledge and experience in dynamic structural FEA

This position does offer relocation
This position requires up to 10% travel
