The quarantines caused by the coronavirus pandemic also affected Fooda, like most businesses. We have focused the team on the most impactful projects to improve our customers’ safety. Our delivery of these projects will help our local restaurant partners bounce back as quickly as possible. You, as a lead developer, will be a key member of our team and will help us drive these important initiatives.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Helping the team make software development and architecture decisions
• Partner with our product and design team to define, execute and test technology solutions
• Understand how our business works and balance technical requirements with business needs
• Help develop other individuals on the engineering team via code reviews, mentoring and coaching
• Suggest and implement improvements to the process of building software and managing technical debt for the team
• Define scope, break problems into stories, estimate timelines and be flexible as changes arise
• Take projects from idea to deployment
• Collaborate with the management team and other internal teams

What You Should Already Have:

• Your resume or cover letter should clearly call out times when you have successfully mentored teammates or have previously managed developers
• The following experiences or skills:
  • Advanced Ruby, Python, Java, or other object-oriented language
  • As a senior engineer or team lead, with strong technical design and architecture skills, including API design and testing
  • Managing a team through an agile software development process
  • Relational databases, such as, PostgreSQL
  • Front end development with Javascript, React, Haml, CSS and Sass
  • Solid understanding of Git and Git Flow
  • Strong understanding of unit testing and front-end integration
  • Continuous integration and deployment tooling like CircleCI or Travis
  • Infrastructure and deployments with AWS and Kubernetes is a plus
• You are an effective verbal and written communicator, and enjoy interacting with internal and external team members
• Our team ships quality software daily, so you should value frequent deployment and thorough testing
• We value customer experiences, so any previous experience with consumer applications is a plus. You should love to make existing customers happy and delight in serving new customers
• Startups are nimble and have exciting opportunities, so we value previous startup experience
